I love the Element! I have owned mine since 2005 when I purchased it new. I was considering a Honda Ridgeline at the time, but the dealer didn't have one in inventory so I test drove the Element and was very impressed by its big car feel and how peppy it is for a four cylinder engine.
Mine has been very reliable and it is great for taking our cocker spaniel with us on trips, etc. For those who have not given thought to the Element, I suggest giving one a test drive. You can do a lot with this small SUV and have a lot of fun getting around too!...read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Fun to drive, practical
- Cons
- Annoying dash rattles, fuel economy
Purchased As Used
I bought this car used and I really like it a lot. It's surprisingly fun to drive and incredibly practical. I traded a Mazda Cx7 for this and I have no regrets. The Element has much less power, but somehow it's more fun to drive. I loe the fact that it's easy to clean and I find myself being much less obsessive about wiping my feet, etc. My only frustration is a nasty dash rattle that I can't seem to figure out. It's making me crazy, but I'll figure it out eventually. Overall a really great car and I'm looking forward to using this car for a very long time....read morehide

Love the car !! My daughter thought it was ugly but after awhile , this is the only car she wants to drive in the family. Easy to drive , plenty of room ./.. Snap to clean and polish...No complaints, except mileage could be a little better avg about 20 per gallon

I lied just to get my opinion in here: I own a 2005 Element and I can't believe Honda is ditching the Element. With a few minor changes it's still the same engine, trans and frame as it always was. The only changes have been bad:removing extendable sun visors and losing the rear roof hatch. I would have added a larger engine and worked hard at more comfortable seating and a quieter ride. With the quirky clamshell doors and bulletproof floor it's so versatile no other car can match it....read morehide

- Pros
- ease of parking, easy loading, simple controls, snow traction
- Cons
- road noise, fuel mpg, small gas tank

By one while you can, my 6'th Honda. Bought this new as used Elements with 35K were selling for only $500-800 below new cost. Fixed road noise by having underside sprayed with rubberized pick up "bed liner" - dramatic improvement. Not one new car defect that I can find. Really like the "oil minder" gauge that tells you when change is needed; accounts for milage, engine rpms, heat/cold, drive time, etc. Milage is not great; 20-22 town, 25-28 hwy, but if you learn to be gentle the mpgs really go up. 2011 is last year to buy....read morehide
