Best car I ever had + will keep it FOREVER. Currently 118k miles and going strong. Like the old VW Micro-bus this is one hard working ride.

I bought this vehicle in 2003, 240,000+ miles ago. Everything is original except the tires, the front brake pads, the front windsheild, the starter and some various light bulbs! It uses no oil and runs as good as the day that I bought it. (It makes a little more noise now)
I haul my wife, my 92 year old mother-in-law and our 160+# Irish Wolf Hound everywhere I go. (They all love it!! Especially Finn my Wolf Hound!) It consistantly gets 25mpg around town, but only about 27mpg's on the highway. It is very comfortable on long trips and when you get out, you don't feel all cramped up. If you are looking for a great utility vehichle, look no further. It hauls most anything and is easy to clean! Get over how they look! There is so much room in them, it's unbelievable. I am 6' 5'' and am very comfortable in it. Hondas put me in a bind now that they are discontinuing it because by the time it wears out, they won't make them anymore....read morehide

The best car I've ever owned. Up until now I only drove VWs, but this Element is the best ever. Easy to handle, great utility vehicle, decent gas mileage, so very versitle.....I want to have this model in my drive the rest of my life. haul animals, feed, groceries, people, luggage, camping equipment, beach stuff and travel from Maine to Florida many times a year. Even the back seats down make a comfortable bed. Love it!...read morehide

I have an older Element (2005) that I bought new and love it. In fact, I am considering a newer Element as my next car, which is why I looked up this review page. I can tell prospective buyers that the Element is a fun car that is very reliable and has a cool/funky style to it that some call boxy, but I like. If you like to go to the beach, or have animals, the Element is very convenient and easy to keep clean. If you have passengers riding in the back, they'll appreciate the higher backseats which allow them to see out the front windshield, as opposed to the back of your headrest. If you commute a lot, like I do, make sure to get the satellite radio as well - much more pleasurable than regular radio. All around, terrific value for your money. I have not had one single problem with the car, outside of the usual upkeep....read morehide

- Fuel efficient, waterproof floors, water-resistant seats, back seats removeable
- Sunroof no longer available, plastic side panels no longer offered

Don't let first looks fool you, I originally didn't even consider the Element because I thought it was ugly. I was going to go with a Honda CRV, until a friend let me see all the extras the Element had. This car is so stress free! Drink spills are easy to clean because of the waterproof floors, MP3 capability comes standard with the EX, I don't even have to decide when to use 4WD, if the car detects that the wheels are slipping, it automatically puts it into 4WD for me.
The back seats can flip up on the side and I can roll my bike right in (there's enough room to where I don't have to remove the bike wheel), or the seats can be removed completely. I also have the table leg kit (spare tire cover comes out to make a table, very convenient for camping).
I've had my element for about 2 months now, and I'm very pleased with my decision....read morehide
