- Great in all ways no bad comments at all
I was looking for a second small car with good gas milage I test drove a Toyota Yaris and a Hyundai Accent . I was looking for a Chevy Aveo when I spotted my Honda FIT in another section of the dealership . I had no intention of buying a car that day . I test drove this car and went back and bought it . In my opinion it is far superior to and of the other cars I tested . I love this car and found no faults with it it is a very good car . I read other reviews and some were complaining about a rough ride no sun glass holders no this or that , if they want all that get a big expensive car and stop complaining . The milage is great I drove it 127 miles than filled the car up again and I used only 2.5 gallons to top off the tank . I will always in the future buy a Honda product ....read morehide

- Good size for subcompact, seats comfortable
- Unpleasant ride
All reviewers seem to love this car so I was seriously looking to buy. I took one out for an extended test drive up one of the local hills, where there are some long uphills, some curves, and some rough spots in the road. (Oddly the salesman let me go by myself.) About half way up the hill I found myself feeling carsick, apparently due to the very bouncy ride. I thought maybe it was something I'd eaten, but when I got back to the dealer and drove my own car away (2002 Impreza) my stomache immediately settled down.
Too bad the ride is intolerable, other than that I probably would have bought it....read morehide

- Fuel Economy
- Rought ride, road noise, poor handling, under power engine, bad crash test result.
Only one thing I really like about this car, Good Fuel Economy. This car has a very flexible rear seat but the rear legroom is too tight, I can't complain it since it is a small car. But after I was in my friend Nissan Versa, wow, it's really big, a lot of legroom for rear passenger. Two also in small or compact car category, but one is bigger than the other, a lot. Now really regret not to Nissan Showroom before buying this Honda Fit. This Honda Fit has poor handling and uncomfortable seat. One more thing that I can't forget, I already sent it back to Honda 4 times for repair. One was door lock(don't know why suddenly unable to lock), Second was suspension came out weird noise, and engine unable to start in the morning twice. Is this really the most reliable compact car in US?...read morehide

- Fit is good on gas. fast moving and easy to park in city.
I had have an experience in bad accident with a big truck. Its body is well constructed to against side impact. Roof side air bag will pull down to keep broken glasses out. My car was spinned around, but it was not roll over even though a big truck struck straight to the center of side body (one of its rear wheel was broken). Generally it is very good car in city and is well handled in crash(accident).
The base Fit, its wheels are smaller. It doesn't have cruise control.
You should have bigger wheels for this car or choose sport one....read morehide

- Fantasic fuel economy and handling
I've had the Fit for about a month now. The first 1,000 miles have been problem free. The engine has continued to get smoother and smoother. Average MPG has been 35. I highly recommend this car. The magic seat is a great feature and as others have commented, the dash looks very high end. I think that some people think the engine is underpowered, but I disagree. It has plenty of pickup. Noise is well controlled in the cabin, even at 80 MPH....read morehide

- Versatility, fuel economy, handling, comfort, fun to drive
- Everybody stops me to ask about it! Floor mats should be standard.
My old Honda civic gave me great service over 13 years so when I thought about trading it in I saw a brochure on the Fit and fell in love. I can't believe I bought a car sight unseen without even a demonstration drive but I studied up the car on the internet known as the Jazz in Europe. I had to wait three months to get the color I wanted but it was worth the wait.
I looks like a miniature SUV but is surprisingly roomy inside. I had a a young woman as a passenger who is 6 foot 4 inches and she marvelled that she still had headroom.
I garden and needed something easy and roomy enough to haul bulky garden items and large boxes I couldn't fit in my Honda Civic Coupe. I have a bad back and other limitations but I can slide things out, and with the seats folding down flat I have a cargo carrier when I need one.
The only negative I had heard was that it didn't pull hills well but we have lots of hills in Seattle and when I downshift I have no problems.
Passengers marvel at the smooth ride and roominess when it looks so small from the outside. This car will have to last me a lot of years as it was a gift from my parents because I am on disability and can't afford repair bills. I have no doubt it will be a reliable car.
Lastly I love that it nags me about everything...leaving the brake on, lights on, door ajar, etc.

- Perfect college car! Great for people with pets, excellent gas mileage, contemporary look
I absolutely LOVE this car! I am a college student and not only was this car affordable, but the hatchback is great for my big ol' german shepherd. The seats fold down in so many different ways that I use it to haul all of my fellow college friends belongings to and from the dorms like a truck. I also snowboard and it fits all the boards and bindings. It has proven to be a great car during road trips, but sometimes during road trips it gets hard to go over 80 mph because it is a 4 cylinder. The gas mileage is supreme. It usually takes me 20 bucks to fill up for the week in this stop & go city. The suspension is a little rough at times over speed bumps, but in my opinion it's minor. For the price of the car you get a GREAT value. It is my first big purchase and I couldn't be happier....read morehide

- great fuel economy, versatility, value, roominess, acceleration
- bit noisy
I own one in China ($12900) without side airbags, but with CVT transmission. Otherwise it is exactly the same car as US version under the same name FIT. In Beijing traffic which is truly bumper to bumper I got 30 miles per gallon (8.3l/100km), but 47 miles (5l/100km) on highway at 55-60 miles ( 90-100km) per hour. CVT is so smooooth!
And brisk acceleration for such small baby! Why not CVT on US roads?
Here in Chicago I drive SUV Isuzu Axiom, plenty of power, but not much roomier and only 16 miles per gallon in mixed driving.... I'm considering to trade it for Fit....read morehide

- great mpg, comfortable, reliable, sturdy
great mpg so far, the car is so light its tempting to speed. car and driver gave this car best subcompact of the year. they put it to test against the nissan versa, toyota yaris, chevy aveo, and the suzuki swift. out of all of those, the fit won because of its cargo space, handling, looks, and speed....read morehide
