- Fairly good m.p.g., looks good, interior space and design, standard equipment on Sport, fun to drive
- no 6th gear, seats, no armrest, no sunroof option, interior fit and finish
I bought my Vivid Blue Fit Sport 5 spd. about 3 months ago after test driving a Scion Xd. Overall I'm very satisfied with my Fit. It gets good gas mileage (although no better than my wife's '98 Civic). The interior is surprisingly roomy for such a small car, with multiple configuration options. The car is fun to drive with excellent shifter and steering feel. The suspension is a bit hard for some, but I rather like the road feel. I have had no problems with it so far, aside from a rattle at the front of the dash over less-than-perfect roads. I wish the interior fit-and-finish were a little better.
Aside from this fault, the only things I wish were that there were some additional options available. It could really use a sixth gear, as the rpms run about 3k at 60 m.p.h. The gas mileage would be further improved by the addition of another gear. I wish there were a sunroof option and the seats were a little more supportive for 6'+ drivers as myself. A footrest would be a welcome addition as well.
Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase and believe that it will hold its value well and prove itself good value over time. I almost wish I had spent the extra $$ for a Rabbit 5 dr., due to all the extra options and power available. I think the Fit will prove itself to be more economical over the long term with higher resale value and less maintenance.
I should have perhaps waited a couple of months and bought the '09 model.
