- engine power

I have a had the 2008 Honda Fit Sport 5-speed Manual Transmission for about a year and a half, and I absolutely love it!! I got it because my pick-up truck died and I wanted a relatively inexpensive car with good MPG and cargo space, it delivers in both areas. For a "sub-compact" car it has great cargo space, more than would appear from the outside. I like to describe the interior as cavernous(I was saying that before I saw the billboard).
MPG it is better than expected, I average 34-35 MPG(mostly city) with an all time low of 31MPG and a high of 39MPG
The biggest negative for me is engine power since I was used to driving a pick-up truck. The small engine doesn't deliver a much power, this is most noticeable in the automatic. I got the manual transmission mainly so I can control the acceleration better on the highway.
The car rides well for it being as small and light as it is, but you feel the bumps on small rural roads. There is a noticeable amount of road noise if the radio is off, but since I'm always listening the the radio this isn't an issue for me.
I am 6-1 and there is plenty of room for me in the driver seat, but it gets a little cramped in the back seat. I usually have to move up my seat when there are people in the back.
The a/c blows ice cold (important since I live in TX), the heat gets pretty hot. The radio sounds good for a stock radio.
Overall the Fit is a great car, I am very glad I own one. I have suggested it to many of my friends. If you want a car that gets good gas mileage without paying for a hybrid and has lots of cargo space than this is the car for you. And it's a Honda so you know it will keep it's value.
