- Fuel economy, cargo space, features
- slightly bumpy ride

First, on the cons- yes, this car is a slightly bumpy ride, which we knew about and expected- if it bothers you, don't buy the car! For myself, I would hardly describe it as a nuisance. Also, I'm so tired of people saying they wish it was a hybrid! It's not and never claimed to be...if you wanted one, you should have bought one!
Pros- excellent gas milage. Comfort- my husband is 6'2'' and I am 5'2'', and we are both comfortable. Cargo space- we are avid snowboarders and all our gear fits in the back plus a third passenger. We LOVE the magic seats. I went camping with a girlfriend and everything we needed fit with ease. The quality of Honda is outstanding and we don't worry about this car lasting 150k+ without any problems.
We got the base model- don't care about a spoiler or alloy wheels- and it's equipped for remote keyless entry and cruise control, you can install them for cheap. We take it in the snow with chains without a problem.
If you are looking for a small hatchback, this is absolutely the one to choose. You won't believe how big it feels inside....read morehide

- Great city fuel economy, large cargo capacity, room for large people
- A little ugly, not that great of fuel economy on Hwy., rough highway ride
Purchased As New
Bought new in May 2009. Now has 6200 miles on it.
This is a great little in town car. Easy to park, easy to drive, and easy on the pocket book. Love the instant MPG feature on the dash, though it overstates by about 4 MPG compared to actual MPG. Also enjoy this feature on our Jaguar XJ6. Fit gets much better milage, but has a much, much worse ride than the Jag. Turning the A/C on really degrades the fuel economy on the Fit. I get about the same gas mileage in town as I do on the highway (42 MPG). My wife gets 34 MPG in town and around 40 on the highway. Think the A/C on cut these numbers by 20% for me. Took the car on a 2400 mile road trip shortly after we got it. It did fine at speeds of 75 MPH+, but you felt every bridge expansion joint. Got around 45 MPG on that trip.
Honda engineers did a good job on the passenger compartment. Has a zillion cup holders, easy to access controls, and plenty of room for super sized driver and passenger. I weigh close to 300lbs (darn it). A nephew of mine who is 6'5 also owns a 09 Fit and reports that he has plenty of leg and head room. That wasn't the case with most of the other cars he and his family of 4 looked at.
Has an incredible amount of storage capacity with the rear seats folded up. Have only need the extra room once though. Room enough in the back for 2 large people on a short trip. Has plenty of power for me so I gave it 5 stars for Performance. Haven't had any problems so far so also gave the same rating on Reliability. You can decide on your own what the value is. The high Overall Rating reflects how well this car meets my needs for a economic, fuel effecient, small car for city driving.
What the heck is up with no center console? It needs it. I will be ordering an aftermarket one for the Fit in the near future.
CAR IS GOOD FOR: The person wanting an economic in town car, or a car with extra cargo capacity.
CAR IS BAD FOR: Those doing a lot of highway, or even rough road driving. "BAD" is a little harse, but you might keep in mind that this car can be rougher than a cob on the road.

- impressive space and fuel economy
- interior features are a bare minimum

Not had any probs with my 08' MT Fit except the drivers seat belt jamming. One dealer gave me beef about it, another is going to fix it using the warrantee. I live in Texas so I drive a lot. I get way better fuel economy than the spec sheet says. I have never had a tank below 30, and have had as high as 36 mpg. Space inside is about 3/4 as much as my dad's CRV. I can fit furniture in it. Performance is as good as anyone can expect for a 1.5l engine, better control with a MT. I think mine was the only one ever made without a spoiler though. I paid to have one added, and now it looks sleek. I hope I have this car into its old age....read morehide

I have a 2002 Jazz, the European version of the Fit, and I have never had any troubles with it. I have over 100,000 miles of highway and bumper to bumper driving and still get an average of 40 miles per (US) gallon. It can easily hold 4 adults and luggage for a weekend. The back seats fold up or down to provide more space when needed. The large rear hatch provides a way to get stuff in and out easily. It is very easy to park, even in the tightest of spaces. The engine is responsive and can get to highway speeds with no problems. After 70-75 mph, the economy drops off rather quickly as has to work too hard to keep it at this speed. Honda has made a great little car and I plan on keeping this for several more years....read morehide

- Handles nicely.
- Back-breaking seats!
Purchased As Not Purchased
It is a pleasant enough ride, and drives well - but the seats are very, very uncomfortable. After the first hour of driving you realize the seats do not properly support your body. I returned the car after a day.

- Great fuel mileage, peppy engine, fun to drive
- Ride is a bit rough, wind can blow the car around

Bought the Fit as a second car and it is quickly becomming the main car in the house. Wife and I fight to leave the house first so we can drive the Fit! Averaging over 37 with almost all city driving. Would have liked to have at least one more power outlet, but will make do.

- style, good handling, better looking
- engine too small, less torque.
Sport version should have like 1.6 liter dohc 125hp with torque 117 compete with Mini coupe. Like handling, style, good looking. Would like to see more torque at least 7Lb.
