Picked up my Fit, 8 mo's used (repo) w/ 4800 mi.
It is a 2011 and has been perfect from day 1. Average 35-38 mpg an is a blast to drive, even with its cheesy fold down arm rest.
I am 6'2" and wish it had more adjustment to the steering wheel. It does have a jittery & stiff ride at times but I can live with it.. If possible get your Fit with good tinted windows since the Air Conditioner just works hard to try an keep up. Seats are comfy, back seat is for kids only But rear seats fold down flat to make a level rear floor.
As others have said, seems it really could use a 6th gear overdrive I think but may not have enough engine torque to support the 6th gear.
My Only real complaint: The Sun Visors. They are completely Worthless & Horrible for blocking Any sun through the Side window... Other than that, This is the 2nd Honda i've owned and am very happy with my Fit....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Reliability, good gas mileage
- Cons
- Interior material could be better

Best car I've ever had, or driven in the 40+ years I've been driving. Love the looks of it. It maneuvers great, and is (don't tell my husband) fun to drive. Am still amazed at how roomy it is inside. Loved my husbands old Civic, but was always banging my head getting in. Not so in the Fit. We bought new in 2008 and are *this* close to 100K miles. Nothing has gone out on it yet, has only seen the mechanic for oil changes and tire rotations. The first couple years it averaged ~36 mpg. Now it's down a bit to ~33 mpg, which still makes us very happy. Feels comfortable enough to me, has never been a problem for my bad back.
What's most important to me in a car is reliability and good gas mileage. The Fit is definitely that, plus it's roomy and looks great! The only bad thing I can think of is that it has a little trouble keeping up with other cars when driving uphill against the high desert winds out here. I believe I can live with that. Also, the interior. My last car was a Toyota Corolla, and when we first got the Fit I was a little disappointed in the interior. The plastic used in the doors and dash, etc, and the upholstery looked a lot cheaper than in the Toyota, and I didn't expect the seats to last long at all. Fortunately, they seem to be holding up just fine, no problems. I LOVE this car, and our next car will also be a Fit. Now, if Honda would just bring the Fit Hybrid to the US..........read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

One reviewer complained that the FIT was needing a 6th gear after 70 mph. If you want a car to go 75, get a more powerful set of wheels. You need to have your head examined if you plan to do 75, 80, and over, in this little 4 cylinder. That is NOT what the car is designed to do! If you think it rides rough, maybe you should have thought of that when you did a test drive (or did you forget about that). Drive the Fit (MT) responsibly, and you can squeeze 40 mph out of it. Who needs a hybrid??...read morehide

- Pros
- Better than mileage stated
- Cons
- No relly new improvements for 2012 from 2009
Purchased As New
I normally get 40 to 42 MPG on the HWY and 37 to 38 in town.
The 2012 model should get as good a stated MPG as the Civic. How come?
Dunlop tires wore out too soon and dealer replacement tires too expensive. How come?0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- lowest city fuel economy was 37!, parking is a breeze, accurate steering, lots of seat configurations
- Cons
- desparately needs 6 gears, wind and road noise too high, feels every bump in the road
Purchased As New
This can has a lot of potential, but its not there yet. Highway speeds are 75 in CO and the Fit engine is turning at a noisy 3,500 rpm. Where is the 6th gear! Road noise is high, and you will feel every bump in the road. Rear seat latches rattle, and Honda does not have a fix. The computer mpg was consistently 5--7 mpg too high. I have 60,000 on it, and it's now my wife's city car exclusively....read morehide

I absolutly love my fit, I did a TON of research before I bought this car. It meet my expectations and more. I paid 18,500 out the door cash, it was more then I wanted but they gave me a good deal on my trade in. As to debunk some of the complaints that I've seen regarding the amazing car.
The noise- is moderate but what are you going to expect from a car that is under 20 grand, this is not a luxury vehicle, but the noise is so moderate that if your complaining about you have some serious issue with being overly picky
The seats- comfy not rock hard at all, right after buying my car I took it on a 16 hour road trip to visit family and me and my passenger had no complaints at all. This a great little car and the mpg is amazing! My average mpg is 34-35 and it only goes up from their. High way I was getting upwards of 40 no problem, the only thing I have noticed was that beacuse of its tony engine it has a little trouble going up larger hills, but other than that I have no complaints, the base model has a lot of features that many models in this class don't, like a aux hook up and cd player, excessive amounts of air bags and an insane amount of strafe space. This is a great commenter car, family car, fist car, anything! I couldn't ask for a more well rounded vehicle....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
