I have had my insight for almost a year now and I can say it is impressing me every time I drive it. I do only have one problem with the car so I will get that out of the way. I was not expecting much with 98 horsepower but I did not buy a hybrid for speed. I could have gotten the civic SI for the same price. The interior whether gray or black is inviting and warming. You get a sense of ownership when first sitting in the drivers seat. The dashboard is clear and invisible. The odometers are clear and easily read. The speedometer is at the top of the dashboard so your eyes never have to leave the road. For a compact car it has a lot of space for every individual including a cup holder for every passenger. The drive is smooth and quiet and does make noise upon hard acceleration, but what car does not? The sport mode with paddles is a fun way to drive especially during rush hour. The acceleration is impressive for a 98 horsepower and racing a prius at a red light was triumphant. The seats are not as comfortable (soft) as I would like, but it does offer great back support since I do have a bad back. I am able to drive hours without having to stretch. My car is black with all tinted windows and looks sharp in the night. The halogen lights add a sophisticated look only recognizable in luxury vehicles. I am certainly happy with this car. Was not something I regret buying....read morehide

I drove an American made pickup and was a little concerned about the size/space in this car. After test driving several similar models, I found it to feel roomier than others that claimed to have more cubic inches. The design gives good headroom and you don't feel cramped by the middle console. Husband and I are looking forward to taking lots of roadtrips. We have plenty of room in the hatchback for gear and luggage. 45 miles per gallon!...read morehide

- Pros
- Excellent fuel economy (depends on how you drive) Not as mainstream as the Prius.
- Cons
- Gas mileage can vary on serveral variables.

Well let me compare the Insight to it's other Japanese rivalry, the Prius. I have driven both cars, but I have driven the Insight a good 15k miles, and the Prius less then 5k.
The Insight seems really responsive compared to the Prius, the handling doesn't feel nearly as "floaty". The Insight I used had paddleshifters that used the CV Transmission to fake gears (7 Speed) it's more for show then anything else, however it's not impossible to have a little fun turning on sport-mode and turning off traction control (who needs it anyways? You have 98HP not 300HP)
As far as gas mileage goes, make sure your tires are good on air, keep your compost and all your reusable grocery bags out of the trunk, anything with extra weight goes out. Even your friends. They either pitch in for gas money or they can walk. The good part about this car is you can buy some organic brownies with that extra gas money since your get around 45+ MPG, unless your hipster friends are fat then your looking at around 38 MPG. Plus, now you have a reason to not let fat chicks in the car....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I love it......Finally turned 10,000 miles on mine and would never go back to a non hybrid......My pick up (ford) has become a secondary vehicle now and I am thinking of selling it and buying 3 more insights for my company. The cost savings would be over 30,000.00$ per year in fuel and maint.......I love this Honda......read morehide

I feel sorry for 1 STAR MORGUL. We purchased our BASE model 2010 Insight new 2 years ago for a short hop and town car. It has been perfect for our needs. Don't buy it and expect it to be a Lincoln Continental because it isn't. What it is is an economical gem.

I've had lots of cars. This is by far the best, ever. I get 45mpg at 65mph. I get 65mpg at 45mph. Tears up every Prius owner when they see the mpg history readout for themselves. Prius owners quickly get Ensight envy when they see the truth before their very eyes. Ford has a lot of work to do before they have any hope to even match the Ensight. We've had countless compliments on the beautiful blue color, too. I'll buy another Ensight next year, so I can get this one back from my wife....read morehide

If this car were totaled tonight, I would have another by Noon tomorrow! I drive up to 80 miles an hour and never noticed any swaying problems the previous review mentioned. It has been a wonderful car and for the price it can't be beat! I average 42.7 mpg, and the best sustained was 56 mpg. Mine is a 2010 and I have about 20,000 miles on it, I've changed the oil & filters and that's it....read morehide
