I have 50,000 after 15 months of driving and could not be happier. I average 53 MPG in mixed interstate and city driving. Took it on vacation thru Colorado and Wyoming over 11,000 foot passes with no problems.

- Outstanding from day 1. 52 mpg average in the mountains of East Tennessee.
- Cons
- Don't drive interstate speeds - 45 mpg

Bought this car new in 2010. I have averaged over 50 mpg since the first week. There is nothing bad I can say about this car other than it gets less mpg at interstate speeds (45 mpg).

Have a 2010 prius it gets 45 - 50 no matter how I drive. While the Honda only gets 34 -40 on the hwy. but I avg 45 to 56 in town. The insight has a wierd noise/ tone at 75 mph. if the wind is right .

I have just reached 10K miles on my EX.
It gets great mileage. I get 42-45 mpg all day long and do not use the Eco button. I prefer the standard mode as it has plenty of power and if you drive it hard like I do, you get better mileage.
I often get 55 mpg on the Interstate with no stops. If you can keep the car between 40-45 mph you can get incredible mileage. I once got 72 mpg on a 65 mile round trip in moderate traffic.
I'm 6'2" and have a large frame and am comfortable in the car. The speedometer however forces me to compromise on a seat adjustment to see it clearly. I'd rather have a conventional speedometer.
I also think the front lights on low beam are too weak for night driving. Even properly adjusted you out run them at 50 mph.
The drivers arm rest is starting to wear and I do not think that is normal as nothing else is wearing.
The car is a bit lwt and I would prefer less harder tires. But I think the car is a great deal.
This car really benefits from Tufoil and I have seen an 8% increase in mileage.
Honda dealers can be beat. I won this time and do not buy their mats- go get better after-market ones instead.
This is also a great car to lease....read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Got it new a month ago. I got the Abalaster Gray color. Personally I don't like the appearance of the of the Prius, I love the appearance of the Insight. Love the sporty look, calls people attention. So far fuel economy is great, I had a Volkswagen Jetta before doing 23mpg now Im doing around 42 with the Insight, :-) , Im happy with the price and economy, I test drive, Prius, Hyndai Veloster, Nissan Versa Sedan, Hyndai Elantra. I love the sporty dash and the Eco system. So far no Cons. Im happy with the car. Wish you good luck if you buy one....read morehide

Compared the Insight with the Prius before purchasing and for the dollar difference the 2012 Insight is superior to the Prius. As a consumer I am not concerned with HOW a car achieves excellent gas mileage, I just want the car to GET excellent gas mileage and the Insight does just that. Bottom line... Don't let the technical mumbo jumbo keep you from getting a great car at a great price. We love our new Insight!...read morehide
