- Comfortable seats and ride, good fuel economy, sufficient power and responsive steering.
- Too much road noise and difficulty seeing instruments (esp. speed)
We have had our '06 EX-L since January (about 6 months) and have taken four road trips (from San Francisco) to Pismo Beach via Big Sur; Scottsdale, Sedona and Grand Canyon, Az and Las Vegas, NV; Lake Tahoe, CA; and Bend, Portland, Astoria, Oregon, Washington State Coast and Seattle, Victoria, BC. The van has been trouble free, we have gotten 23 to 26 MPG driving generally 75 MPH (I've caught my wife going a bit more when she thinks I'm engaged in a book and wouldn't notice).
We've driven in near white-out conditions at the Grand Canyon in March (21 degrees) and in 100 degree heat this past week at our home 30 miles east of San Francisco. Climate control is great and the van tracked well in the snow.
I've had three other vans, two full size ('72 Chevy, '78 Plymouth) and one mini ('87 Voyager); our Odyssey is the only one to drive with the comfort of a passenger car; it's much more comforable then are get-about 03 Chevy Malibu....read morehide

- confortable riding , easy handling, looks great,
- noisey tires, need automatic passenger seat
I enjoy everything about this Honda. We had a 2004 EX and it was great until the tires got noisey.
This is a 2006 bought last October. The more we drive it the louder the highway noise is. Dealer says "sounds like the other vans". Dealer said saw no problems. Called Honda ---no results. said to go back to dealer....read morehide

- good looks, its a honda
- MPG, funny sound from tranny
has this vehicle for more then a month now, fit and finish is not a Toyota, had 3 problems that the dealer seem to never get fix, loose bumper, sound from tranny, shifting hard. Should have never gotten this vehicle, should have look at a Toyota, and mayne even a Kia.
It sad that I have to say this, a Honda owner since 1989...read morehide

- Fun to drive, handling, acceleration, function, power sliding doors, VCM
- Needs bluetooth hands free option, the Odyssey needs to shed a few lbs.
We recently went shopping for a minivan and the factors that we were concerned about were: safety, performance/handling, functionality, reliability, and resale. After comparing the Odyssey, Sienna, Sedona, and Town and County, the Honda was a clear winner.
It is a blast to drive and the leather seats were luxurious. Honda had all the features we wanted at a better price than the Sienna. The dual power sliding doors are great. and we love the fact that the van shuts down three of its cylinders at cruising speed. This is our first minivan and we were concerned about giving up our fun to drive sports sedan.
The Odyssey EX-L should help us forget our car quickly. This thing drives just like a car... Clearly the best van on the market....read morehide

- Sharp new design, one of the few minivans that seats 8
- Horrible gas mileage, premature fan belt wear, a couple of recalls already
This was the first brand new vehicle I ever bought. I did a lot of research before I pulled the trigger. I was pretty excited to pick it up. The experience at the dealership was great. They traded one of their vehicles with another dealer, for the color scheme I was looking for and had it delivered the next day. However, with the experience so far, I think I should have gone with the Sienna.
The advertised EPA gas mileage of 20/28 is no where near the mark. I've had to bring it in for recalls (air bag sensor, and something else I can't remember right now), and I've had to replace the fan belt becuase the pully wasn't aligned properly and the belt was starting to wear....read morehide

- roomy, decent fuel eco,
- options too pricey, drivers leg room too small
Just bought Odyssey EX-L, put 1000 miles on 3 days. noticed several things I didn't like. Drivers side left leg room is too small, and when ECO mode happens you can feel little jerking of a engine, heated seat button is too low placed, options are very expensive they want to charge $450 for electronic rear view mirrow. Wiper switch too close the steering wheel. This model don't come with auto day light system. Ride is smooth, very roomy, but gas don't match with the sticker but I think still better than others, I might getting 23 mpg on freeway with ECO system. Since van is large it's hard to park in the city. Compareing with Nissan and Toyota, it might be in the 1 st place over all. They could of made little better....read morehide

- fuel economy, power, smooth engine
- little rough ride
Though I did not like the external appearence mainly because of the sliding door tracks, I love this vehicle. Ride is firm and taut on highways though it feels little rough on local roads. I am getting around 23mpg in mixed driving (I dont drive aggressively). Once I got 30.8mpg on highway. I want honda guys to add little wood trim, soften the ride and trim some weight. Otherwise it is a great vehicle....read morehide

- Great fuel, smooth ride, fit and finish top in the class
- Styling a bit too boring
Some posters have never been in one nor speek inside one, yet complaint about the Odyssey. You don't need to take my word for it just test drive one and judge it for yourself. One thing and one thing only that I don't like about Odyssey is styling. It's a bit on a boring, other than that it is a great van. I bought the van anyway....read morehide

- Smooth, quiet ride great sunvisors Cover whole window Good Accel Definitively Superior
- None as Yet
I have been researching this van for 6 years. I purchased a 2000 OutBack Ltd instead of 2000 Odyssey due to over inflated tires on demo. I have been test driving and doing my Due dillegence of the other top brands during the ensueing years.
Honda is definitively superior. Better handling and ride than Dodge/Chrysler or Toyota. Better MPG than all others. Better resale than all others. Faster than all others. It is reasonable to expect to get 250,000 300,000 miles out of this vehicle or more. face it Honda is slightly to quite a bit better than the others.
As far as buying is concerned for the best price go online and get a quote from on line. They are about $1,000 less in general than the dealer will do when you walk in. Use online price to get them to come down.
One last thing. I have driven over 2,000,000 miles in my life and have had many vehicles and own the Outback a 98 Accord with 200,000 on it and can say that the Odyssey is the most practicle vehicle for most people. Not cheap though....read morehide

- Great engine performance, style interior quality, and comfort.
- A little expensive for the average wage earner.
I also bought the Odyssey because it has excellent resale value. It's rear seats are much more comfortable than the thinly padded DC stow and go.
