2007 Honda Odyssey
There are 19 user reviews for the EX-L w/ DVD and Navigation System trim shown below
- Performance, room, versatility
- Power Steering & drivetrain lack of smoothness, no rear vent windows.
Purchased As New
For as big as it is, I think it has great performance, both acceleration & fuel mileage. Around town mileage is not so good, about 18-19. But on the road at 65-70 it will get 24-26 mpg. We have an older Villager that does better around town, but can not match the Odyssey mpg pure highway trips. Had issues with P/S. Somewhat fixed by a recall. Would like to have power rear side-vent windows, like offered by Toyota and Nissan. Great for highway trips. I do use AmsOil lubes....read morehide

My 2007 Odyssey has transmission problem very early on, then brake problem. Honda Dealer refused to do anything about the transmission until recall was issued. I had the brake replaced at 41,000 miles, but have had problem with the brake from day 1. I continue to bring it back to the dealer, they finally re-machined the rotor 3 weeks ago, but the problem continue to exist. Just today, I talked to the manager of the dealership, I was told that it may be the problem with the transmission again and not the brake. What should I believe?...read morehide

- Great interior space and flexibility; gas mileage 18+ in city, 22+ highway;
- Some rattles, brakes very soft (a major concern)
Several rattles are irritating and the brakes are very weak. The vehicle has just over 4K miles. I find myself downshifting to compensate for the weak brakes. Torque output at low speeds is inadequate: Must downshift or lock in 3rd gear to gain quick acceleration. Gas mileage OK for a vehicle this big. Excellent interior, with ample room for passengers. The flexibility to haul either cargo or people is this van's greatest asset. Safety features are impressive, with Vehicle Stability Control a very desirable feature. The Navigation system takes a Master's Degree to figure out, especially the audio input. One must be very precise when giving a voice command: Otherwise, the System goes wacko and you never know what the output will be. The heating/cooling system is OK, but annoying. You cannot preset anything, and each activation of the heating system requires one to punch through the available options: This is annoying. The Honda's overall fit and finish, albeit some rattles, is good. The experior paint is very good, and the vehicle looks good all around....read morehide

- Comfortable, Nice looking Van
- Too pricey, bad MPG, unreliable transmission, hard ride, road noise, rattles.
Bought 2002 Honda EX/L w/ Navigation. At 38000 miles transmission need to replace. Need to replace all shock absorbers, breaks. I own Toyota(s) too. Runs great after 9 years and 110K miles and never replace shock absorbers. You have to end up living with the poor gas mileage.
Next time no more HONDA......read morehide

- NOT MANY PROS
- ITS A SCAM FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY
I WISH I HAD INVESTED TIME IN A TEST DRIVE ON A UPLANDER FIRST. I THOUGHT FROM THE REPORTS I READ I HAD MADE A GREAT CHOICE . AFTER THE FIRST FEW MONTHS NOTHING BUT TROUBLE, AND GOOD LUCK ON GETTING SERVICE. I LOST MONEY ON THE TRADE ITS JUST A REAL LET DOWN.

- Poor gas mileage, not very reliable
This is a very comfortable van with mechanical problems. Our van is a little more than a year old and has been in the repair shop numerous times. We are presently dealing with power doors that like to open on their own. I just noticed the new 2007 Consumer Reports has dropped the reliability rating down to average on the Odyssey. With the problems we and apparently many others have had Honda will be fortunate if the rating doesn't drop to below average....read morehide

- roomy, convenient, nice looking
- Ride is rough, poor transmission, poor power steering
This is my first and unfortunately my last Honda. Loved it for the first 20K miles. It is very roomy and has everything inside of it but a toilet. However, I had to have a new transmission in less than 2 years of owning it. Didn't fix the problem. Honda says that the problem is normal...why would they put in a new $5k transmission if normal? Had to have a new engine mount and sort of fixed the problem. I seem to be in and out of the service department every two weeks. I do not enjoy driving it now. Owned nothing but Toyotas before...never a problem...looking forward to going back!...read morehide

- GPS, DVD, Leather, Space etc
- Ride is rough, little space for coins and currency, transmission issues, less MPG
Initially I was thinking of buying Seanna but because of its cost for DVD and Navigator options I turned towards Odessy.
I baught 2007 model in December. I started feeling some vibrations on gas pedal and steering when riding at around 50mph. The noise also great. Audio also not good. When I listen to NPR I feel echo and really feeling difficult to understand.
ANOTHER BIG IISUE is battery.
yesterday before igniting the engine I put the key in the second position and hearing to radio for about 10 minutes. thats it. I was not able to start the engine. battery died.
If I would have read the reviews here I wouldn't buy this one....read morehide
