2008 Honda Odyssey
There are 8 user reviews for the EX-L w/ DVD trim shown below
- very confortable
- very noisy
Purchased As New
Our EX-L Odyssey is a leased. We fell in love at the dealer, it looked like a good car. When we drive it in the city this car handles very good, but I was disapointed when we took it for a long ride. It is so noisy that I was shocked. Honda, in my opinion, is one of the best car makers out there, but I do not understand why they have not "fix" this problem. It is so disapointing that I would not lease another one. So sad, 'cause besides that it is really a good car....read morehide

- Comfortable and roomy Good Quality
- Cruise and Economy Electronics and Transmision. Steering is Very heavy
I have an ongoing engeneering and mechanicle problem that Hinda has refused to fix and so tghe vehicle when I am in cruise and the eco system, (economy system) is engaged, the vehicle jumps back and forth and so it jerks in the mid range 40-65 MPH. In addition the vehicle has very heavy steering and this is true of my other Honda's. OK around town but, hard on the hands for long trips. In addition the dash lights, when the headlights are on during the day, as when it is raining, the numbers can not be sean so you have to turn off the lights to see the speed. Very annoying.
Over all this vehicle has 42,000 plus miles and is a 2006.
It has had one major repair under warrenty but, I repeat the economy system switches back and forth and causes the vehiocle to jerk. This is a major engeneering fault and so I will sell this vehicle and buy something else in the near future.
Honda is over rated and I have had 4 of them now and won't buy another....read morehide

- Very Smooth Riding Van. It feels like I'm driving a sedan. Spacious.
I'm not sure who these people are who's writing bad reviews about the 2008 Odyssey EX-L-RES, but my Odyssey is really cool! I get great gas mileage. Mine goes from 3 to 4 to 6 cylinders, depending on road conditions, to save on gas mileage, which is really neat!, Compared to my 2001 Accord and my wife's Volvo XC90, the gas mileage is great. Regarding the brake paddle, you do have to apply a little more pressure, but that's no big deal. However, I can see this being a problem if you're not use to it. However, after driving it for a while, you get use to it. So far, I have no complaints. It feels like I'm driving a sedan. I am very satisfied with my Odyssey and would recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious vehicle that will set 8 passengers comfortably....read morehide

- handling, looks, performance, interior room, resale value, safety
- excessive road noise - makes vehicle seem cheap
have not had problems other than brake vibration when coasting downhill at speeds over 60 or so -- depending on surface, road noise is excessive -- if road noise bothers you, better reconsider

- Very good looking car, comfy, and lots of room.
- Bad brakes, noise, shake, wind noise in the sun roof, expensive.
When I went to see this car for the first time I fell in love with the car. It was roommy, and comfy, and I love it. The funny thing is that almost every single bad reviews here was just the same issue that I was dealing with. I came to the conclussion that, this is not a good car for the money. Toooo expensiveeeee! I can't not believe Honda hasn't done anything about it. Anyways, A year after I bougth it, I was dealing with big problems. I started to feel an ugly noise in the brakes specially whenever I was going downhill. There was a wind noise in the sun roof, when I put my finger in between the roof and the front glass edge, I was able to feel the roof unatached from the metal part of the car. The car shake a lot when driven in the freeway at more than 50 miles per hour. Also, it was giving me only about 16 miles per galon. I thaugh mine was the only one with this problem but now that I now that it wansn't, I would never get another one....read morehide

- Handles really good, Very Roomy, Fun to drive Great family van
I was very surprise with this mini van drives really well. I or I should say my wife has had this van for almost 8 months and we really like thia van. We take it on long trips and you don't get tried and worn out like I do in my pickup. The seats are very comfortable and the dvd keeps the kids happy. I have not had any problems with the brakes so far. Really have nothing negative to say about this vehicle. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking at mini vans....read morehide

- good reputation for reliability
- brakes, wheel alignment, unpleasant dealership experience
frankly, everyone told me I was better off getting a Japanese make rather than a U.S. one. Only time will tell, but I can tell you that I am off to a bad start. Toyota did not want to negotiate price so I got stuck with a Odyssey because my wife liked it. The car has 12700 miles and I have already gone twice for brake vibration and for a wheel alignment. The dealer told me that the problem is the way I drive and the roads I drive on. I hate going to dealers. Always an aggravating, unpleasant experience....read morehide

- Stylish look, good fuel economy compare to any other van available
We narrow down our choice to Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey. But based on perfomance, negotiable price, stylish look, we gave prefrence to this car. Good Safety-rating, less insurance cost are the cherry on the top... so if you have children or planning to have... this is the choice you may want to go for. My family like this car over toyota Sienna and nissan quest.
Toyota dealer was charging more... even less attractive look, less mpg and less features. Honda Odessy is the way to go........read morehide
