2008 Honda Odyssey User Reviews
- $11,664 - $19,622
- 26mpg on highway. Otherwise not what I expected of Honda's reputation.
- Rough ride. A good bit of wind noise. Radio controls too far away.
I had 3 Windstars and a Freestar. Two of the three had transmission failures. Then Ford stopped making minivans. I thought I would go for the best considering Honda's reputation.
My new 2008 Odyssey had a rattle around rear. Found three different causes. Bumper fascia slapping against underside of rear floor, lug wrench not held securely in tool compartment, rubber bumpers for rear hatch not properly installed. Repaired all myself. I find the positioning of the various controls awkward and in the case of the radio too far away from the driver. Sliding door handles function in an unusual manner. Transmission does a stange little shift when stepping on the gas just before coming to a stop. At 60 miles per hour the wind noise sounds like a hiss on the outside of the windshield. Wheels were improperly balanced and van vibrated at 60 mph. This van takes a lot of getting used to. Nothing seems natural or familiar....read morehide

- Style, power, Ergonomics
- Transmission problems, fuel economy bad, noisy ride, brake problems
Great looking van, comfortable, good engine power..... but not honda reliability. Several transmission and brake problems in first year. Gas mileage of 17mpg not better than other vans even with cylinder deactivation. Very noisy ride. Disappointed with this honda... next time I'll stick to their car line....read morehide

- It consumes fuel as it says on the sticker. there are many trim levels and opitions.
- It is bumpy and noisy from the engine. it does not meet the expectation.
First, I bought the 2006 CV-R and then I exchanged to the 2008 Odossy. Generaly speaking, it is more bigger and roomy than my previous SUV. In my opinion, this van is kind of missing something that is hard to tell. It is little bit bumpy. It is noisy that comes from the engine into the car. It is not really quiet and comfort. Honda must to improve more on this Odessey. Overall, it does not meet the expectation. It does not what you pay, what you get....read morehide

- Fuel economy isn't what you are told.
- Noiser than i thought it would be
I was very dissatisfied with the 2008 Honda Odyssey and I was told this was their best vehicle ever in a van. The noise level was very loud for it being a Honda. I would recommend families with children to pass on this vehicle and go with the 2008 Chrysler Town and Country (I believe this vehicle is ready to retake the market). Drive one before you decide on a mini van. A good indicator is the build up of inventory Honda is now getting on its lots. I have lots of other issues with the Honda and without a $10,000 rebate its going to be hard for me to even go this way. I will be looking at the 2009 Honda to see if there are any improvements....read morehide

- CLASSY FEEL, HIGH TRADE-IN VALUE,EXCELLENT SUSPENSION
- TOO PRICEY! BAD ON GAS TOO-- 15 MPG CITY AND 18 MPG HIGHWAY
THIS MINIVAN HAS NOT MEET ITS MATCH WHEN COMPARING IT WITH 2008 TOWN AND COUNTRY. T&C HAS 19-20 MPG CITY AND 22-24 MPG HIGHWAY.

- Roomy, organized, height and clearance just right, ergonomically designed in true Honda fashion!!
- Fuel economy average 14 mph city, 18 hwy, more road noise tha our 2003 model, rear temp still issue
The inside is designed very well (still have problems with rear AC temp not turning off at set temperature and being too cold for kids. The fuel economy (14 city/18 highway mph - sea level) of the van is breaking the bank. We are considering trading it in for a full sized Yukon (slightly better gas mileage from rental we tried and still holds our family of six) for the gas mileage it gets. We have owned Hondas for 22 years, and this is our first consideration outside of Honda. We have outgrown cars and need the mini-van (previous 2003 Odyssey owner and was hoping the newer models had better gas mileage) dual side doors for our younger kids....read morehide
