- Its says Honda, but wait..
- Too much understeer, suck gas worse than estimates
Purchased As Not Purchased
I rented this van to Las Vegas and just got back to San Francisco two weeks ago. It cannot go to Las Vegas in one single tank, but almost two tanks. Wow!!! It sucks gas so much. My brother's MPV, which fuel tank is smaller, but managed to get 1 extra mpg over this Odysessy. Also, cornering is not as good as the Mazda MPV, which is smaller by the way. The Odysessy is so TOP HEAVY that it understeer so much and there is the delayed feedback during hard cornering and almost feels like it is going to roll over. I never had this same feeling sitting in my brother's Mazda MPV. Also, despite the higher engine output compared to the Mazda, the Odysessy does not fair any better on a dead stop race to over 70mph, it was just head-to-head with the MPV when I tried it with my brother's MPV. All in all, it just come down to whether one needs a bigger vehicle. And with these days new thinking about automobiles, bigger isn't always better.
