- Pros
- Awesome interior, great ergonomics, great handling
- Cons
- Bad Transmission History, VCM annoying, road noise & high price
Purchased As New
The Odyssey is a great vehicle except the transmissions and engine mounts fail around 50k miles. The torque converters go bad very early and it's $1500-$2000 minimum to replace with same defective parts.

- Pros
- Very comfortable, Loads of room, Good gas mileage for its size
- Cons
- a little pricey, but you get a great car
Purchased As New
We bought our Odyssey after looking at all the other mini-vans out there and the selling factor was the ability to haul 7 adults comfortably, or 8 people with a couple kids mixed in there. The car rides very smooth and handles very well. The comfort features are great, it is hands down the nicest car I have ever driven....read morehide

- Pros
- cooling bin sounds cool, good visibility
- Cons
- price, limited availability, looks like a hearse
Purchased As New
Sister just bought one. smooth ride, but engine is sluggish. It feels like it needs more horsepower to pass or get up to highway speeds. The bells and whistles are neat, like the cooling bin (great idea I expect others to copy soon). I like the 8th seat but I wish it went away/stored easier like the Grand Caravan's STOW N GO seats. Styling is ok but from the back it looks like a hearse so don't get black or dark grey......read morehide

I'm wondering if anyone else has had an engine fire on their 2011 odyssey with less than 20,000 k's. There were no other additions to the vehicle and outside of oil changes there was no work done. The vehicle performed perfectly otherwise.

- Pros
- Solid, high quality, very comfortable interior, best minivan styling.
- Cons
- Could use 20 more ponies and more storage.
Purchased As New
Traded in a 2010 VW Golf HB and a 2011 Highlander 4WD for a Odyssey Touring. Leather seats are the best, and the van is solid, well built, and provides a controlled and quiet ride, even on rough pavement. Although only 2/10ths of a second to 60 mph slower than a 2011 Sienna, it feels like it could use 20 more horses from the 3.5 V-6. And why is there no storage bin under the passenger seat? It could use some additional storage cubbies. But all things considered, this is definitely the best touring minivan available. The large navi system is very easy to use, and the dvd is great. The attractive styling has drawn positive comments. Very pleased with the purchase, even though I took a beating on trade in prices for two late model vehicles....read morehide

- Pros
- Looks cool from the side and front; good MPG for long trips
- Cons
- Road noise loud, spare tire moved to a needed storage for a subwoofer
Purchased As New
First off, my wife drove an '08, dealership got us into an '11with a steal of a deal. The blue is a new color she also liked. That is where the good stuff ends. Recalls: already had two and are waiting for at least another 2 to come up. Quietness: What quietness. Sounds like the windows are always down. Storage: There used to be a storage bin between the driver and 2nd row seats. Now it has a spare tire in it. Where the tire used to be is now a puny, worthless subwoofer. This carries kids, not teenagers who are in to loud stereos. Basically, what bass? It's been lowered thinking it would be smoother, nope. Moved the overhead air vents to the side. Kid in the middle hates it. Difficult seeing when backing up. Careful of the blind spot, it's huge....read morehide

- Pros
- Nice redesigned look; easier access to 3rd row; back-up camera; cool box; quiet ride; bluetooth;
- Cons
- MPG could be better;

We purchased this car one week ago and love it. We traded in our faithful 2003 Odyssey and just love the redesigned look of the car and the different features that are now available. We are leasing the EX-L trim line.
The back-up camera comes on when you put the car in reverse. This is a terrfic feature. The "Cool Box" is great to store 4 bottles of water and keep them cool....although we haven't put the air conditioner on yet which works to keep your beverages cool.
Versus our 2003 Odyssey, the 2011 is much easier to get into the 3rd row, as the second row captains chair actually slides forward. Also this version has the automatic trunk relaease which my wife finds extremely beneficial....you can open it from the remote as well as from inside the cabin.
This van is also much quiter than our 2003 version which always sounded like we had a window open.
I typically do not buy a car in the first year of a redesign as I like the automakers to "take the kincks out of the car first", but since I am leasing the Odyssey, it's not really a concern as I intend to turn it back in after three years.
Although I had to get my 17 year-old son to program it for me, the bluetooth phone is a wonderful feature. However, I am not a big fan of talking on a cellphone while driving...regardless of it being hands-free or not.
Honda did a nice job with the redesign and we look forward to driving the van....read morehide2 out of 27 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Overhyped by Honda, great copier, bad designed exterior, poor gas mileage
- Cons
- Second RECALL, Bad quality, Poor performance, Overpriced, Overvalued by Honda!
Purchased As New
Having owned a 2005 Walter Chrysler Signature package Town and Country, which never had anything major go wrong with it, I am extremely diappointed my new 2011 Honda Odyssey. This thing runs like a dog, acceleration seemed to have dead spots in it, jerking transmission problems, bumpy ride. I was shocked at how poorly this vehicle performed. And the gas mileage! I used a quarter tank of gas (5 gals.) on a 60 mile round trip, most of which was highway. I was using the "Econ" function, which is supposed to improve mpg numbers, too. My son drove his 2011 Chrysler Town & Country from St. Louis to Chicago (approximately 300 miles) and had a quarter tank left ! Guess I'm stuck with it now with all the RECALLS!...read morehide
