The car rides well, and gives you the feeling of a luxury car on the highway because of the low road-nosie and its width. It is a luxury SUV, afterall. It does eat gas, however. My Pilot is averaging 9-12 mph in the City, and other owners I know barely get 15 highway. It's heavy, and is bigger than it seems.
There's a trend in America as every automaker has forgotten WHY they used to put steel bumpers on vehicles, too. The Pilot can NOT take a rear-end collision on 10mph (as I discovered while standing at a red light on day) without significant and costly damage to the tail pipe (which affects the undercarriage, to the drive train and renders it inoperable). Generally, vehicles are DESIGNED to cost you big $$$ in repairs for fender-benders now, and front and back -- this one will not absorb a punch, at all. They're easy to fix, if you have the money -- but, this is one aspect that no one ever talks about -- nor bothers to think about from the design-stage on down to the schmoe that will inevitable cause an accident.
