- LOOKS AND ROOM
- GAS MILEAGE IS A LITTLE LOWER THAN I EXPECTED
I BOUGHT MY FULLY LOADED PILOT EX IN FEB O6 MY WIFE LIKED IT SO MUCH SHE BOUGHT A LX IN MAY. WE HAVE HAD A LITTLE PROBLEM WITH AN UNKNOWN RORING SOUND IN HER CAR THAT APPEARS AT ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR. THE SHOP CAN'T FIND IT.
I LOVE MY HONDA. MY PREVIOUS CAR WAS A FORD EXPLORER SPORT TRAC. MY HONDA PERFORMS MUCH BETTER. THE PICK-UP, HANDELING AND TURNING RADIUS ARE ALL 100% BETTER. MY EX IS QUITER THAN MY WIFE'S LX, BUT BOTH ARE QUITER THAN MY SPORT TRAC.
THE ONLY PROBLEM I'VE HAD WITH MY HONDA WAS THAT I BARELY TOUCHED A WALL IN A PRKING GARAGE AND IT SCRATCHED UP THE BUMPER REALLY BAD. I HAD TO HAVE IT REPAINTED....read morehide

- high torque
- lot of noise
This SUV eats up a lot of gas!!!! The milage per gallon on the marketing flyer is not true. There is a lot of noise when running in the freeway.

- Great SUV! Our Family loves the room and drive
- None so far...
I cannot believe the negative comments that I have read. There either over inflated or salesmen from other car manufactures are trying to give this vehicle a bad name.
As for the Pilot:
Get the NAV Option...it works great. The DVD can be bought aftermarket.
Overall, the family and I enjoy the vehicle. The room is great!
We looked at various cars - Pacifica, Durango, Jeep Commander - and found the Honda Pilot to be the best in all categories.
If it means anything else, the dealership is the most professional that I have seen in years (Dothan Alabama) ask for Randy!

- Very comfortable, clean design, great gauges, nice interior, resale value
- MPG not as expected
Compared with others in this class, definetely A WINNER. I expected better gas mileage, based on their claims, I'm a carefull driver, driving mostly freeways, I've been getting max. 16-17 mpg. Everything else is great, love the spacious look inside and compared other makes resale value is much better down the road....read morehide

- Great acceleration, quiet ride, heated seats, love the tinted rear windows, great gas mileage, comfort
- popping sound from rear brakes,2WD isn't good on wet steep driveways, can't go up very good, spins out
My reason for choosing the Pilot was simple... Great Value, excellent construciton, safety features w/side curtain air bags all the way back on both sides, seats eight people, seat heaters, Honda's always hold there value better than any other vehicle that I know of. I wish I bought a 4WD but just for the reason to get up my driveway in the rain, or very wet. I live on a steep slope and didn't remember about the front wheel drive, that's just a problem occasionaly anyway. I do make it up the drive but have to know how to on an angle and turning too. I love my Pilot!!!!! I highly recommend you get yours too!!!!...read morehide

- Roomy-Great get up and go-storage-DVD-Xbox
- Rattle noise rear sub-Noisey engine fix-see below
Great Mid Size SUV. First one for me.
About my vibrating rear subwoofer; With or without the rear seats folded, I was having a plastic rattle noise coming from the sub. I checked everything, change, extra bolt, loose sub....any way, the passenger side rear seat belt lays right on the rear storage and rattels from the sub.
When the belt is not in use, I simply slide the latch up the strap and secure it with a clip...Problem solved.
For those who complain about a "noisey motor at 70 mph" or "will not go faster that 70 mph" you need to turn off the "Stability control" "VSA" push the button in and a light which appears to look like a warning will appear on intrument panal, it in no way makes it unsafe to drive in this mode. Use your best judgement, and do what you wish, and not what I say. "-Read your manual before doing so.-" It is an ideal option for winter driving as it stops your tires from spinning, Other than that, I see no use to drive with it on, it does nothing to your miliage etc, you are not going to flip over. I built and bought Hondas for years, you will not find a finer AUTOMOBILE. Period....read morehide

- Great Price and Worth it
This is my first SUV and I love it. My last car was a mercedes and it feels like I am driving that still, sometime better. The Navigation is a plus. It has a camera to help you back up. I love that part. I researched and test drove The Jeep Cherokee, The Toytoa 4 Runner, Highlander, GMC Envoy, Rodeo ,and the Pilot beat all of those. If you want an SUV pick this one. 100% happy....read morehide

- Smooth ride, looks great, and spacious for smaller kids.
I bought this car for my wife. We looked at a variety of different cars in the SUV class. The Ford, Toyota and Nissan all seemed like good choices. But, if you look at the trade in value of the car later down the road. The Honda help the highest retail value. There is a simple reason for this, it is built to last, and it keeps its value more than the others. Bottom line it's a Honda! Enough said! : ) Also, it felt the roomiest of them all. The extra room will cost you some gas in the long run, but at least my children will not be fighting about leg room. Besides the front seats, the others pack people in like sardines....read morehide

- Fuel economy with 2wd, navigation with voice and rear camera, leather, xm radio included ...........
- Gear shift on the wheel
I looked at SUVs for over a year, seriously. I read so many reviews in magazines, newspapers, and the internet. The finalists were the Honda Pilot, Nissan Pathfinder, and Toyota 4Runner, but I also considered the Highander, Outback, Tribecca, and Durango.
I liked the Pathfinder a lot but the ride was a little tough, excelent car though for its purpose. I would have bought it a few years back before our family started to grow (I am coming from a 98 Pathfinder). With the 4Runner I had mixed feelings, and a visit to the dealer did not help, everything was an option (price for the one I liked was over $40K, no way).
During my year's research I always came back to the Pilot given its excelent manners, built quality, safety features, huge interior space, great engine, and Honda's reliability. All I have done to my 2001 Honda Accord is regular maintenance, Hondas are so good.
I love the Pilot, and what is even better my wife does too. The 2006 new features are great, like the voice activated Navigation and the rear camera, as well as the revised front and rear design. In a week our Pilot has over 800 miles, including a trip to San Jose and another to Tahoe. We got 25.6 MPG in our trip to San Jose, amazing! In our way back from Tahoe we had to install hains due to a snow storm last weedend. I thought about the 4WD but this was probably the only time we would have used it, I still prefer the extra mileage with the 2WD VCM engine, which is fantastic.
I have not experienced some of the issues other drivers have stated, like the noises over 70 MPH, or the noise inside the glove compartment. Anyways, these items just confirm that this car is an excellent choice. Go read opinions of the Durango for example, it is scary in some cases.
Did I mention I got a great deal? Auburn Honda is excellent....read morehide
