- rear AC vents construction need to be stronger
Purchased As New
Great car 85000 miles, averages 23 mpg on the highway-which is great for a vehicle this large. Has never left me stranded or needed anything other than maintenance and tires. Still on original brakes. Just maintain the car to and it will run forever. No one can out build or out engineer Honda, Thanks...read morehide

- Reliability, Handling, Room, Ride, leather
- GPS routing poor, Styling, base tires
We've driven our 2005 Pilot on trips from Virginia to Florida, Canada and Indiana. It has been excellent. The handling and ride was a big improvement over the Mercedes ML we replaced it with him.
It has been rock solid and without any mechanical issues, something you couldn't say about the Mercedes.
I replaced the base tires with Michelin's excellent SUV tires, just as I did on the Mercedes. These tires help the handling and ride on any SUV. We'd buy another Pilot in a New York minute....read morehide

- Comfortable. Third row seating. Good interior finish.
- Somewhat rough ride. Fuel economy. Road noise.
I purchased my Pilot Ex-L 4WD in August 2007, and have driven more than 3,500 miles. (I've owned Hondas before, and my teenage boys are presently driving a Civic and an Acura RSX). The sticker on the window when I purchased the Pilot said 17 MPG City. However, after three tanks of gas, it was obvious that the actual gas mileage around town was 13-14. So, I installed a K&N air filter, switched to Mobile 1 Fully Synthetic Extended Performance motor oil (15,000 miles between oil changes), and a Mobile 1 oil filter. I'm now getting just over 15 MPG City and more than 20 MPG on the highway. This is still a far cry from what I expected, so I went to my Honda store and looked at the stickers on the 2008 Pilots. Wouldn't you know, the MPG's have been lowered to 15/20. I was quite upset, until a friend said that his 2006 Ford Ranger had a sticker with the MPG's being 18/22, and now the same truck for 2008 is stickered at 13 MPG City. It's obvious that all the auto manufacturers have inflated the gas mileage claims! Alas, my son's 2006 Honda Civic EX gets around 35 MPG overall (combination of city and highway driving)....read morehide

- Roomy, It's a Honda right!?!
- Biggest mistake I ever made. 2 mths and
This car has has makes a noice when going into the eco mode. Brought it in to have them look at it and I got it back worse. Broght it back the second time, two days later the problem came back. The third go round the "Dealer Mechanic" heard the noise on the test drive and next day ycalled to tell me to pick up the car they didn't hear it that day. Picked up the vehicle and it feels and sounds like a 5 year old suv. Brought it back to compare to stock vehicle, only to confirm my suspicions. Called Honda directly they are sending their technician out to fix the problem....read morehide

- nice ride, good pickup entering hwy, nice sound system
- road noise, strange noises when backing up & turning, weak suspension
Purchased Pilot EX-L two months ago and have had problems with the alignment since day one. It's been serviced three times and still is not aligned right. Steering wheel is off center slightly to the right. mileage has been around 15 city, 20 hwy. Owned an Accord for 12 years and never had issues like this. Very disappointed for a 30k vehicle....read morehide

- IT'S A HONDA; MEANS QUALITY OR NOT?
THE REASON I BOUGHT THIS SUV IS THE FACT IT'S A HONDA, BUT HAVE COME TO REGRET MY IMPULSIVE DECISION TO BUY IT. PERFORMANCE IS LESS THAN THE HORSEPOWER IT IS RATED, EATS TOO MUCH FUEL @15MPG, NOT RATED FOR TOWING MEDIUM LOADS-MEANING NOT A SUV CLASS OR WEAK STRUCTURE, WIND AND ROAD NOISE IS TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TRANSMISSION IS BEGINNING TO LEAK-WHAT QUALITY AND LASTLY, TOO MUCH FOR THE PRICE IT SELLS FOR-NOT IN THAT PRICE RANGE, ALTHOUGH WE BOUGHT IT BECAUSE IT'S A HONDA. WHAT A MISLEADING WAY TO BUY A CAR?...read morehide
