2008 Honda Pilot
There are 6 user reviews for the VP 4WD 5-Spd AT trim shown below
- Lots of room. Good visibility. Excellant towing. Nice ride
- Sucks alot of gas.
Purchased As Used
We originally went to our local Honda dealer to look at CR-V's. After seeing what the prices were, we looked at used ones. Still too high. My wife decided to go for the used 2008 Pilot VP 4wd with 20,000miles. We bought it in 2010 and have so far added another 26,000 miles to it. We like the ride and the room inside. Not to happy about the gas mileage.
a month after buying it, the factory Dunlop tires were due for replacement with only 21,000 miles!
With a new set of Michelin Cross Terrains, K&N air filter, I can get 22mpg with the cruise on.
A few things I don't like are; Can't dim the dash lights, crappy mileage, the stereo system.
A few things I do like are; Smooth ride, solid construction, interior space, towing capacity....read morehide

- solid, safe, good looking, great in snow
- uses a lot of gas
I just had to chime in, I have a 2006 Pilot and I have a 2003 prior to this one. It is an expensive car to pay for and to gas up. It uses gas like a 8 cylinder and we make less trips to town to save, monthly payments are high, $550 a month. I have considered trading it in for a Fit but I won't. Because, regardless of what it costs, it is a solid, solid, solid and safe car. Top crash ratings, surefooted in the snow and we live in Maine. Basically, my wife and 2 kids must have a car to get around in. I dont want them in a tin can. The Pilot gives you peace of mind....read morehide

- SMOOTH RIDE, GREAT STEERING AND LOVE THE V-TEC... TAKES OFF FAST..
- NO LUMINATION ON STEERING CONTROL SWITCHES.
LIKE THE WAY THE VEHICLE ADAPTS TO DIFFERENT ROAD CONDITION, VTM AND VSA ARE BOTH TOP NOTCH. THIS SUV GRIPS THE ROAD LIKE A SPORT CAR. TOOK IT TO COUPLE OFF 2 TO 3 HR ROAD TRIPS WITH IT'S GOOD RIDE AND COMFORT I FEEL CHEATED WHEN EVERYONE IS ASLEEP. OVERALL THIS GREAT VEHICLE FITS WELL IN THE DAILY NEEDS AS FAR HAULING THE WHOLE FAMILY AND LOADING STUFF. THERE IS ROOM FOR EVERYONE. THUMBS UP TO HONDA......read morehide

- Plenty of room, Comfortable seating
- Road noise, loud on bumps, poor interior lighting, gas mileage
Lots of road noise. You can actually hear the gas swooshing in the gas tank. Takes bumps terrible. Poor interior lighting design. Putting the truck in the proper gear is difficult. I've had a Honda Civic before and that was also noisy on the road. Last time I buy a Honda. Expected better from them!...read morehide

- I like the style, room inside, handling
- transmission. mileage
transmission is a major negative. 1st and 2nd gear shift rpms at 3500 are ok on level ground, but up any incline it sounds like the engine is going to throw a rod. Automatic downshifting for hill braking is a nuisance(really helps with the mileage, HaHa!). Relatively poor mileage. Standard tow ratings are poor(only 1000) compared to the same powertrain in the Odyssey(2000) which requires an extra $1000 for tow package. Rated tire press (44) are dealer recommended at 32 to help the ride; further degrades powertrain performance. Woudn't buy this vehicle again. Liked the toyota highlander powertrain far better....read morehide

- Very spacious inside, I love the excellent transmission, 6 cd changer
- I don't know! Maybe abetter appearance...
I am so happy with it, it's smooth, luxurious - very spacious inside!
I had to decide between the CRV (I like the exterior design of that car) and the Pilot and I went with the specious Pilot!
