Anyone thinking of buying this car needs to realize that he/she is spending good, hard earned cash buying an impractical, noisy little car. Once that has been accepted, everything else just "makes sense."
The car handles as good as any car on the road today. Very responsive steering and a tight suspension make for a go-kart feel to the car. After a week you WILL know where all the road defects are around your house and how to best avoid them. You will also be on the never ending search for the perfect backroad.
The engine, albeit a bit buzzy, pulls strongly after 6K RPM. Day to day driving is acceptable but drag racing is best left for the big V-8s on the road. However if caught on a twisty back road, few if any will ever appear in your rearview mirror as the engine (chassis and gearbox for that matter) is perfectly suited for high revving, gear-shifting fun.
The weaklink of the car seems to be the gearbox. 2nd gear crunching seems common in many cars but usually goes away after the car has warmed up. Also, unless you like the waiting room of your Honda dealer, don't attempt to match the 5.7 second 0-60 times.
So if you are looking for a race car that happens to be a convertible, look no further, this is your car. It is an uncompromising, driver oriented car. It is one of the few extreme cars that will likely be too edgy for the average driver. If you are looking for a cute convertible, maybe you should go to the Mini dealer.
