I've driven a few sports cars in my life. I restored and drove a 76 TR6 and the S2000 is the closest thing I have driven that gives me the same thrill as the TR6. Nice thing is I don't have to repair it after each weekend outing. I'm not a street racer and don't want to be - the biggest draw back to the S2000 is every kid with a coffee can exhaust wants to race you. My last car was a nissan 300zx - a very nice car but light years from the S2000 in both performance and fit and finish. I don't find the ride too rough, although when driving anything else that car feels too spongy and non-responsive. Test drive an S2000 on a backwoods winding road at full tilt and you'll be hooked. Great little car. I'm certain the 350z / boxter / etc. are also all fine cars. Bang for the buck leads me to the S2000. The quality of the all the new sports cars is to be commended - I don't think anyone could go very wrong with any of them. Too bad the only american sports car is the corvette - and out of my price range. Perhaps the big 3 will catch on and produce some quality roadsters in the near future.
