2007 Honda S2000 User Reviews

- Good ergo up to 6'1", Exel handling, top end perf, awesome braking, sweet exhaust note,
- Low-end torque weak, stereo can't overcome driving experience, cupholder in wrong place...
I bought my 2002 used, with 43k on it, and I've never had a more pure driving experience in my life. Keep it between 3.5 krpm and 9k and you know why there's a head"rest". Handling is flat and exact, even at speeds where you know it must have some roll. Braking seems to defy reason. And the engine sound is pure music! I don't know why they put a stereo in it at all, unless it's to warn you of slow traffic ahead.--
If you assemble the pro's and cons I listed above, you get the aggregate: this car is designed to celebrate the roadster (NOT dragster) driving experience, at the cost of all else. Comfort is designed in only so that discomfort doesn't distract you from the drive. The dash is minimalist for the same reason, with the tach as the featured element. The exhaust note wins against the stereo for the same reason. The fact that the ONLY option on this car is the color tells me that, to the engineers who crafted this wonder, any change would lessen it.--
If you place a drink in the cupholder, your shift arm must be held up at an awkward angle or or you will crush the drink. The cupholder placement says it all, "Why are you trying to have a snack while driving this car? Drink when you get home, this machine is for driving!" Those who designed this car aren't just automotive engineers, they are automotive artists, performance poets , sliderule samurai.--
If you can't tell, I like my car....read morehide

- descent fuel economy
- comfort, high speed cornering when the ground is wet
Strongly recommended if you're expert race car driver or street racer. Because this babe got its talent on the street. More specific about it is when you actually cornering around 35-45 mph. You need the skills to make your car drift or power slide. If you think you can do that, then this is the perfect car for you. But what i heard is the 04-07 model got the traction control. If that's the case it doesn't really matter, another words, doesn't require that much of skills. You also lose the fun part of this babe. But anyways i got the 2002 s2000, its F20C engine with a rev limit of 9000 rpm. which is the best engine for a s2000. The new F22C isn't that much better then the old version. I don't really like it. Especially when Honda jack up the price. So i suggest go for a used 02-02 s2000. They are the best. Only thing you gotta watcha out for is the suspension on the 02-03 model. Because is not that advance as the new one. but just install a strut bar and problem solve....read morehide

- Fast, still more stylish then anything under 40 grand, still unique
- Stereo is sub par, not made for people taller than 6'1, extra parts are very pricey!
2005 S2000 bought new
Negatives about the car first:
1. The Stereo - So sub par...can't hear it while the top is down!
2. Air bags -can't turn the passenger side off if you have kids
3. Room for tall people! I am 6-1 and barely fit
4. Seat rubs when put all the back and will scratch the back of it. Had a friend put the seat all the way back and it rubbed to the point of it totally putting blemishes on the back of the headrest.
5. Power...it's quick, but they should make one with a v6 or turbo to get this car to go 0-60 in less than 5.5 seconds. 5.2 would be ideal!
Positives: Still the prettiest looking car on the road for under forty grand. And yes, better looking than the new Saturn and Pontiacs...those cars will most likely fall apart in 2 years! Safety: I am told by two people that have totally wrecked their s2000's that they are the safest cars on the road! Both lived through horrible crashes without even a scratch! One racing on the track and the other in the passenger seat hitting a telephone pole head on.
I bought my S2000 new in 05 prior to the new seats and headrest speakers being added to the newer models. I since then have had to upgrade the stereo because it would skip on every small little scratch a cd had to which my other two cars didn't have a problem with. Also, if you have an IPOD, think about a replcement. In all, if you are into music as I am, you will have to upgrade the stereo system. I bought a new alpine to replace the stock and also replaced the component speakers. The only problem now is to get the Mute button to work on the side of the steering wheel with the remote internal box I bought for it. And yes, now my IPOD sounds great! The headrest speakers that I bought were so worth it, but they were also over $379. I also had to make them 2 OHM to get them to put out better sound. I installed everything to save money, and it was relatively painless, however if you install the headrest speakers, you WILL have to remove the seats to do so! The car would be so ideal if it had just two more inches of leg room as well as if it was possible to have a turn switch for the passenger air bag. I have a 20 month old that isn't allowed to drive in this vehicle. DOH, wouldn't have bought it if I would have thought of that first! :) The car handles amazingly, has great little power on the high revs, and was 35 out the door, so for the money, a great car! Honda has been great too on the maintenance......read morehide

- Wonderful fun - very reiable
- Seats and interior room a bit too tight
Exilerating! The most fun on the planet, super gearbox and engine response.
And all this in a convertable with a folding top that goes up or down in 5.25 seconds.

- Accel., Handling, Race-Inspired Interior, Overall Quality
- Low-end Torque and Stereo System
If you want a nice and quiet car with a soft ride, get a Cadillac or a BMW 7 Series, not a sports car. I have owned my S2000 for about six months now and cannot rave enough about it. The amount of torque generated by its small engine is incredible. Top that with superior handling, driver comfort (bolstered seats), and user friendly and easy to read instrument cluster and you have one of the best sports cars under 50k!
I have driven the Lancer Evolution and the STi and while they will 10 times out of 10 take it off the line, put them on a windy track and the S2000 will always come through first. It's not very often that you're speeding to 60mph anyway.
What some would call loud driver compartment noise, I call it "music to my ears." The engine can readily be heard inside the car, and frankly, I want to hear all $35,000 worth of car. The combination of the engine revving with the unmistakable "S" exhaust note makes you feel as though you're in a much pricier vehicle.
And, to top it off, the fact that it's a small vehicle makes waxing and washing it a breeze. May sound silly, but it's an added bonus that I found after I had already bought mine.
Pure Exhilaration!!!...read morehide

- acceleration, exterior design, headrest speakers, quick electric top
- not much storage
I have had a Corvette and it is one of a kind, the All American Sportscar, and worth every word of praise, but if you want an affordable, fun, dependable sportscar that makes you for a moment think your a young stud again, the S2000 is for you!
It takes awhile to get regulated to the high end and be willing to push the RPMs up, but once you realize that is where the S2000 longs to live, then a new level of excitment kicks in.
It doesn't have much storage space but it will handle small luggage in the trunk. Of course all you need is a change of underwear and toothbrush and your off.
It's a fun ride and I grin the whole time I am in it!...read morehide

- great acceleration
- rough ride, noisy, better for track
I considered replacing my 30 year old Lotus Esprit with an S2000. I drove both cars over the same road. A 25 mph corner at 40 in the s2000 was thrilling. In the Lotus, the same corner was hoo hum at 50. I don't know if this speaks in favor of the s2000 or not. Certainly the s2000 is a superbly engineered car for driving on a track, but within the limits of sanity, i cannot see much value on public roads...read morehide

- Therapy on 4-wheels... Inspiring to anybody, extremely irresistable and exclusive but worth every $$
- who cares! when you have a real drivers car at your disposal....
I've owned my honda S2000 for 6-years, first 2000 model.. I have 124,562 miles on the odo, and it still gives me goosebumps like the first time I drove it.. I've had 27 different sports cars and other performance minded vehilcles, but no car has ever gave me the feeling of loving to drive like the S2000... The connection between driver and car has been the goal for every designer, and builder since the birth of the true sports car... If by accident the S2000 was built purely in perfection to accomplish such a feat, then the formula is a hairline away from F-1 specs... Don't expect comfort, luxury amenities, or gadgets that only belongs on everybodys car... But expect reliability better than your average econo, handling like a go kart, and the accelration equal to a motorcycle all combined into one makes this formidable car, exclusive to those who seek nothing less...
And for those who want more out of this roller coaster... Aftermarket support is unlimited.........read morehide
