Dead Sexy Blue with an exceptional value

by DB from Ohio (10/03/08)
Pros:Solid build, Belieze Blue color, reliability, value and safety features
Cons:None yet

I bought the LX-S 4 cylinder for economy, safety, sporty good looks, reliability and residual value. The car is sound, handles well, looks great and has Honda reliability built in. The 190 HP engine has plenty of pickup and gets 30 mpg. Antilock brakes, Vehicle stability control and air bags all the way around standard. A sound purchase for under $23000 No need for a sunroof, navigation or leather.

Excellent

by Chuck Z from Lincoln, NE (10/02/08)
Pros:Acceleration, handling, interior and nav/BlueTooth
Cons:At this point, none

What can I say? Excellent automobile. Easy feel, handling, brakes, steering, audio and the Nav/BlueTooth system. The Navigation package in loaded with features. Wait until you get your hands on the Nav system, much less the car itself! Yes, go ahead and buy the automobile then post here to thank me!

09 Accord Coupe EXL-V6 Auto-best in class!

by Don G from Orlando, FL (9/28/08)
Pros:Best-in class styling and Acura-like build and feel
Cons:Fuel economy not as good as expected-may still need the engine to be "broken in"

I just picked up my dark gray 09 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6 Auto (no nav) last weekend. Put 500 miles on it this week and could not be happier with the decision. This car is rock-solid, gets lots of compliments and is not "lost in the parking lot" like so many other models these days. Build quality is excellent, the car is steady and shure-footed on the highway, performance is outstanding with the V6 automatic (regular gas is a benefit these days as well). Overall, got a great deal here in FL, and the competitors pale in comparison (Altima Coupe was "cheap" feeling and not nearly as expensive-feeling).

Still smiling

by Dennis from Ellicott City, MD (9/23/08)
Pros:oops, typo...on tap power is 271bhp not 191, duh.
Cons:Getting in and out a little tight, if you have short legs, haha

Well, I've had the car 11 days now and I still smile every time I get behind the wheel. 400 miles later and I'm patiently waiting to hit 600 on the odometer, that's the break in period...then I can open it up a bit and crank up the RPMs to wind up the VTEC. These Honda engines love to be revved high. The gerbox is smoothing out and the brakes are feeling more responsive as they break in. Enjoying the Honda quality feel of this car. Fit and finish is excellent. It feels like I'm driving my Acura TL, which by the way was five thousand dollars more. Still playing with the Nav and Bluetooth, lots of buttons. The car has a longer wheelbase(107.9 inches) than pre-07 models so it has the feel of a bigger vehicle. Definitely recommend this car if you want aggressive styling, plenty of power for the street, great value and nice amenities like well bolstered leather seats, a 270 watt, seven speaker premium stereo, including sub-woofer, MP3 aux, 6 disc in dash changer, voice activation, bluetooth, heated seats and mirrors, dual auto climate control, power sunroof, telescopic/tilt steering wheel and a proven nav, system, just to name a few...

The best generation of an Accord yet!

by Mike C from Cape Coral, FL (9/23/08)
Pros:Good Power, Great looks, It's a Honda, Great audio system
Cons:Just above average fuel economy, no fog lights on I-4

The 2009 Honda Accord CPE EX-L is a great styling coupe offering both exceptional value and a sporty design. On the inside, the soft, ultra-supportive leather seats hug you in place. The fit and finish is of what you would find in it's grown up and matured cousin, Acura. The only downside most consumers may find is the radio layout. Jumbled with large buttons and knobs may be overwhelming initially, but drive it around the blocks a few times and you will find that all the buttons are within arms reached and perfectly laid out. The 7 speaker (4 midrange, 2 tweeters and 1 8" sub woofer) 270w system is very good, but not great. From a 270w audio system we would expect deep bass and concert like sound, and yes this is what it delivers. But when compared to a lower wattage Bose, Infinity or Mark Levinson audio system, it doesn't live up to what a true 270w system "should" sound like. Although the upgraded premium stereo, over the standard 160w 6 speaker system, is an excellent upgrade, but is only available in the EX and higher trim.

The I-4 2.4 190hp engine delivers great performance for a 4-cylinder motor. Paired up with the 5AT, the car shifts smoothly with plenty of torque to zip you around town. Fuel economy rated at an upsetting EPA 21/30. Highway mileage of 30MPG is acceptable especially for a car of this power; however 21MPG in the city is not something we expect from an I-4 Honda. Combined MPG in mixed driving situations you will expect to get about 25 MPG.

Honda went all out with redesigning the Accord Cpe for 2008. From it's aggressive front end and angled headlights, riding upon large 17" Michelin Pilot low profile tires, to its slick and smooth rear makes this 8th generation Accord very different from the previous. For a coupe, many have said that it's rather large; however keep in mind this isn't your average Accord. For 2008 Honda has drastically increased the size of the Accord to its now competitive size to Toyota's Avalon. The coupe is quite large for a coupe, and still offers desirable legroom and headroom for the rear passengers.

The only downside of the 2009 Accord EX-L I4 is that Honda did not make fog lights an option leaving a cheap looking black cover over where the fog lights would be. From all the great things about the new Accord CPE, this minor disadvantage can be well overseen.

Overall, when comparing with a Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, or the new and drastically impressive 2009 Mazda6, the 2009 Honda Accord CPE takes the cake.

Satisfied Customer

by Dennis from Ellicott City, MD (9/13/08)
Pros:Sleek Styling, On Tap Power 191bhp, Honda Quality
Cons:None yet, just bought it last night

I Love sports cars but could only afford one around 30k. I got the 09 Coupe 6 speed manual EX-L w/Nav. in Belize Blue, what a gorgeous car. For under 30k I feel like I got Excellent Value, Modern Styling, Sufficient Power, Superior Safety and plenty of toys to play with for a while. The Porsche will have to wait but thats ok.

Great looks, can you believe it is a honda

by Sid from Sacramneto, CA (8/22/08)
Pros:great looks, spacious for a coupe, smooth ride, great acceleration, handles well.
Cons:Paint has begun to chip off near the edges of the front and rear bumper.

You won't believe how many second looks this car gets. Ofcourse, I bought it for the looks but the fact that it is a Honda Accord, sealed the deal for me. Best selling car for over a decade and sleek body, can't go wrong.
