Value, Value, Value... Oh and VALUE

by Brennen from Terrebonne, OR 97760 (7/06/08)
Pros:Wondeful Fuel Economy, Safety features, Comfort, Reliability, Look
Cons:Not enough time to drive it...

Previously owned a 2001 Pontiac Grandam, horrible car for quality and was a nightmare to get rid of. Basically, I limped it to the dealership for the trade in, in which I was given $2,800. I needed a fuel-efficient car that was safe, reliable and that would present me in an appropriate manner. Currently I am 16, and have purchased this car to last me through college. I knew Honda had a great reputation, as Toyota has in the past, and was sold the minute I sat in the vehicle. I didn't care for the Toyota's much, and my parents own a 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT which has been an OK car, but doesn't have the quality or the fine-point details that Honda products do. My parents also own a 2005 Acura MDX, and have had no problems with that. I based my decision upon these factors, and am very happy with my purchase. Overall, I would say you can't beat the value of a Honda Civic. If you're looking for a safe, reliable, comfortable and nice looking ride, save yourself time and frustration by going for the Cicic. You won't be dissapointed with it. Spend your time looking for the Civic you want, because that's the hard part with today's current demand.

A little sports car, in an economy car.

by Candace from BC, Canada (7/05/08)
Pros:Fuel economy, style, safety, overall feel of the ride
Cons:Transmission is a little rough when it changes gears.

I have only had my new civic for a couple of weeks but it's a great car. The fuel economy is amazing, as the reason for purchasing and I am very impressed by the safety features that have been included. Even though it has a little engine, it has no trouble going and getting there.
Very fun to drive as it has the feel of a little sports car. Would recommend to anyone looking for an economy car for you get a lot of bang for your buck.
I love my new little civic, honda as certaintly held a good reputation with this car.

**Buyer Beware!**

by Wendy from Gulfport, MS (7/04/08)
Pros:Looks great, comfortable, love the dash!
Cons:Poor performance. Broke down first day I bought it. Broke down again second day, still in shop.

Well, I guess one of us has to get the lemon. I bought a brand new 2008 Civic EX on a Monday night, had to bring it in for service the day after as it stalled on my way to work. Service department couldn't duplicate the problem. Stalled again on the second day, engine light on both times, now they say they have to replace the whole assembly? Salesman misled me on the stereo system and the dealership offered me XM and a free oil change. Can't comment on the mpg as I only put 50 miles on it, so I don't know. This was my first new car purchase in 20 years, thought Honda was the best. Very disappointed! I asked for refund, thought maybe they would offer another vehicle, no...but offered me my first oil change for free. Oh boy!

I can't recommend this vehicle to anyone, but if the dealership does me right, I will repost and perhaps I will be able to rave about my new car. You know that new car "high" everyone gets when you first get it home? Well, mine only lasted one day.

by Herb Henderson from Mayfield,Ky. 42066 (7/03/08)
Pros:Great milage 41+ at times,average 34 overall
Cons:Cant outrun my brothers Mazda

This is my 3rd Civic and I personally have had great luck with every one.Ihave had Toyotas,Nissans and Mazdas but none compare to the little Civic Coupe. It is not a Lexus but will take you there in just as much style and elegance and return you dependably and safely every time. You can truly DEPEND on the Civic for YEARS!!! I have found a friend with Honda and its BIG bang for the buck!!!

2007 Honda Civic

by bella206 from Snover, MI (7/01/08)
Pros:Reliable car, good price, good fuel economy
Cons:interior is easily scratched

My Civic is a 2007...I bought it used in May 2007. It only had 6K miles on it so it wasn't very used. I didn't list any cons even though I was a little disapointed at first with the fuel mileage. My first Civic was a 1997 and it was the best car I have ever owned. It had 250K miles on it when I hit a deer and totaled it. It got 38 to 40 mpg consistently and I am averaging 36 mpg with the 2007. I whined a little bit about the drop in mileage at work one day and just about got lynched by my GM and Ford driving co-workers that are getting 22 mpg (or less) so I decided to be happy with the mpg! I drive 60 miles a day to work and back so fuel economy is extremely important to me especially when fuel is over $4 a gallon.

I've had some problems with alignment issues, in fact I have had to replace the tires already at 30K miles. The dealer has finally admitted there is a service bulletin about some parts that may be missing that could cause uneven tire wear and/or loud tire noise from the rear. I guess I could have put that down as a con, but I blame that more on the dealership than on the car.

I am sold on Honda and when the time comes to replace this car I will be replacing it with another Honda. Probably another Civic!

Great Car! Get one if you can!

by Frederick from Wisconsin (7/01/08)
Pros:Great Car! Wouldn't trade it for anything!
Cons:Low Ride, but still comfortable

I bought my Honda Civic last fall before gas prices went sky high. Boy, I'm sure glad that I did now because I have saved a lot of money on gas. I don't drive a whole lot of miles since I work only 2 miles from home, so I only have to fill the car about every three to four weeks. I'm thinking that this car is going to be with me for many years to come.

Great car for the Buck

by John from Wilmington, Ohio (7/01/08)
Pros:Great fuel economy, nice ride, standard ABS, and multiple air bags
Cons:lacks body side molding for those "door dings" and would like to see std. alloy wheels on LX, not mu

I drive 100 miles a day round trip to work and have owned a number of vehicles over the years. The Civic is a great commuter car, providing a good ride with great fuel economy. I have gotten at least 35 MPG on each tank, so far, and have gotten as high as 38 MPG on one occasion. Great standard safety features, which are reflected on your car insurance, and great retail. I really have no negative comments.

One of the best choice ive ever done

by rhkenji from redondo beach, ca (6/30/08)
Pros:MPG, Full-loaded, Great Looks, Amazingly comfortable, outstanding car!
Cons:Standard stick shift feels a little too filmys, interior easily scratched.

Probably one of the best car ive driven. Depending how I drive, I could even push higher 30+mpg by short-shifting. My co-workers, friends and neighbors loves the looks... I feel like im driving a sports car.. BUT NOT. lol..

I have a fully loaded one except navigation. I think I found the car that I would always love to drive for the next 10 years atleast (unless gas prices go more than $8.. i would start riding bikes instead)
