A Fit Surpise!

by Yeoman from Mesa, AZ (7/20/08)
Pros:Excellent Fuel Economy, Great Handling, Great Looks and Styling
Cons:Needs: folding inboard armsrest on front seats, power door-lock button on front passenger side.

I have owned many cars, but this is the first car that I have had that is actually both fun to drive and has amazing room and utility at the same time. It handles like a sports car. I get more positive comments on this car than any I can remember including my SUVs, Porsche and Corvettes. It is just a plain well engineered and well built car. My wife and I are constantly flipping a coin to see who gets to take the "Fit" today. I would not be surprised to see us wind up having two "Fits" in the stable. We were not sure we would like such a small car when we first got it, but we bought it to try in the face of rising fuel prices. It is a real "serindipity".

FIT as a fiddle

by Steve from Virginia Beach, VA (7/13/08)
Pros:Excellent Fuel Economy, Good Handling, Adequate acceleration, roomy for a small car
Cons:Seats could use a little more support; shifter sometimes balky

I drive my FIT carefully and get 40 mpg in suburban driving and 45-47 on the highway (at 55-65 mph). It can handle a lot of VOLUME with seats in back up or down. Comfortable for short trips, it could use a bit more support in the seats for long trips. Has enough oomph to be at 55 for most interstate onramps. The FIT handles well and the brakes are good.

Awesome Milage

by Steve Skyrm from Cleveland, Ohio (7/11/08)
Pros:Excellent fuel economy, with the back seats down you can pack for a week camping trip for two people
Cons:Needs a driver side arm rest.

We just down from Cleveland to Acadia National Park in Maine for a week camping trip. The back was backed with a cooler, chairs, tent, canopy, sleeping bags, etc. We drove 55mph on the way there and we averaged between 43 - 45 mpg on the freeway (the car is an automatic with cruise control).

Buy A FIT and be GLAD you did!

by Dave Moehle from Annapolis, Maryland (7/11/08)
Pros:Great fuel economy, Very fun to drive, Sport model has awesome sound package
Cons:Sport suspension means you feel every bump, Tiny foot pedals

We have the '07 version of the 5 speed MT Fit. We have been glad we bought this car EVERYDAY since September of 2006 when we took delivery!! The first time people ride with me they make the same comment "This thing is like riding in a little roller coaster!" And I whole heartedly agree. This is the most fun little car to drive anywhere. The suspension is very tight and stiff which makes sharp turns at speed, or quick stops quite easy but it makes for a bumpy ride. The "racing" style bucket seats are so accommadating that you soon forget about the bumps. The gear box works very well and shifting is a breeze. The sound system in the sport model is AWESOME! The built in MP3 disk player feature as well as the jack to plug in your MP3 player or phone ensure you will never be without your favorite tunes. The only thing that they should change are the foot pedals. They are a bit small for my 6'2" with size 12 shoes body, but I make due just fine! BUY THIS CAR You Won't Be sorry!!

WOW - 40.4 mph with an automatic

by Dave from Freedom, PA (7/11/08)
Pros:great fuel economy, tons of room
Cons:a little bumpy on those pot holes, but again, what isn't!?

I love this little car !! It gets me where I want to go with gas to spare. On a recent trip to Canada, I got 40.4 miles per gallon. WOW- around town I've been getting 34. And the thing is , it's an automatic !!
I recommend this to all my gas guzzling vehicle friends.

Homerun honda!!

by ehracing67 from macungie, PA (7/08/08)
Pros:fuel economy is above the stated amount, with less than 700 miles we achieved 33.9 mpg combines city
Cons:if i have to find one thing, it's the seat are to short for a 6'2" adult. but not by much

with the sport package, and a few extra bucks to tint the rear windows, like they should have been. This is one nice ride. A great way to once again, be able to take the kids and just go for a drive and rediscover america. And this is my first non-american car. I know a honda right? but yep a honda and this chevy bleeding american loves it!

I am very happy with her choice

by Ad Woo from Oakland, CA (7/08/08)
Pros:ABS, safety, tire pressure monitor
Cons:Road noise, missing vehicle stability control

My girl drives the 2008 Sports Fit, and I drive a Lexus IS Sportscross. I hope that this can serve as an objective report from a passenger point of view.

I suggested my girl to get the Fit for the ABS and safety. She had a flat tire within 1 week after she got the car. The tire pressure monitor saved her time and $$.

I was surprised about the space inside. It is almost as big as my IS. Like my IS, the Fit also has the fold-down rear seat. It is actually easier to load and unload stuff from the Fit.

Speed? I have to constantly remind my girl to slow down, and brace myself when she takes a corner. And that is with an AT. I wish that she were driving the “Real Flintstone Car”. Oh, did I mention that she was driving a Toyota Cressida, with an inline-6 engine, before getting the Fit.

She is VERY happy with her Fit, with strange color and good gas mileage. Her only complain is the small size gas tank.

She works for the Chevron refinery. Does she know something I do not? Maybe I should also get a Fit.
