Purchased As Used
Bought the 2009 H3 base model I5 back in August 10 (19K) only a minor exhaust rattle since. Took the truck on 2500 mile road trip and was very comfortable and my 6'4 boyfriend fits comfortably. Got 19+ MPG in a mountain rain storm, AC blowing, full load. Where's the bad gas mileage everyone reports? When shopping I compared to a 2011 Colorado (very small interior, no power but same engine, 1 mpg greater, big whoop), Dodge Dakota (same MPG on V8 but better towing cap, small cheap interior, and Dodge service sucks couldn't even get a test drive). What am I left with? The same MPG within 2 of every truck of similar size and function, style, super ride, and instant mountian climbing capability. I drove an 06 H3 loved it, but wanted the bigger I5 so I got the 09 manual tranny instead. Loved the option of manual transmission which is not available on others. Most other trucks ride like and 1800's wagon on rubber tires, stiff, low maneuverability, hard seats, and small interiors. OK so every says people don't off road H3's because they are too pretty, well I have no problem. Would a brand new 2011 Cherokee owner go plow through mud and rocks? Probably not! No reason to knock this truck except on engine power. I don't get speeding tickets, a major plus! Who speeds when rock climbing in Colorado anyway?
