- Excellant Fuel economy, Efficient Engine
- Light in weight
Purchased As New
Excellant Fuel economy , Good Braking system but in sandy roads is slips over and don't slow down , a very good Engine
not equipped with ABS so in sandy , wet roads it slips and it become to hard to slow it down , Very light in weight so it is not reliable in highways and you feel like the car is going to fly ( Road Condition in Egypt is Poort so car stability may vary in a better road conditions ) , gear get damaged quickly because of a very poor road conditions unlike our second car ( Chevorlet Optra )
Bought in 2008 with a mileage 80000 Km
Didn't have maintance before or any kind of inspection
Oil Changed last time from milage of 44000km
Mechanical problems before :
1- Electrical problem caused a failure in the front exterior lights and it was fixed ( Happened twice )
2- Damages in the gear systems and it was fixed .
No any Failures in the Engine or any of the vital parts in the car
if you city have an excelland road conditions i recommend this car
if you live in a place maybe still under construction with a sandy or damaged roads this car is not good for you...read morehide

- Good value for the money
- accelleration speed
Purchased As New
The quality of the car is good. I had a leaking oil seal which was repaired when the car was 5.5 years old. It has 35000 miles on it, as I don't drive much. I find that the quality is very good. I took the car on vacation this year and found that I managed to cuise at at least 60 - 65 miles per hour going up hill. The price and the guarantee is what attracted me to the car. I think that I will buy another one when this one gets too old. Hopefully when it is over 15 years old....read morehide

- Beautiful colour, great fuel economy, easy to drive and park, roomy, quiet, nice interior
- Slow takeoff, doesn't handle well over 80 mph, no cruise control, sunvisors, floormats.
Purchased As Used
My hubby bought me this car used at one year, and I'm very pleased with it. It's my first car, and I'm happy I chose this one.
I was drawn to it initially by its colour-a gorgeous sky blue, which is pretty hard to find, but upon further investigation, I discovered more great things about it!
? It's roomy, comfortable and quiet
? It gets good gas mileage
? It fits into all those tight parking spaces with ease and looks great while doing it!
? Good sound system
? Easy-to-read instrument panel
? Very reliable-I haven't had any serious maintenance issues with the car.
Unfortunately, there are a few negatives, and some are pretty serious;
?The car has a slow takeoff. It's nerve wrecking when you have to suddenly accelerate and you have to put your foot in it, wondering if you'll be able to make it. This fact is what caused me to deduct two stars from the performance rating.
?Over 80 mph, the car doesn't handle well. In those situations where you have to accelerate to pass, the car wants to wobble and feels rather unstable. I do most of my traveling on the motorway, and occasionally I have to travel at 80 mph-so I'm very cautious when I do so.
?There is no cruise control (or sunroof).
? Sunvisors break easily (however, this is a problem with many other Hyundai models)
? Floormats bunch and pill. I had to remove the original driver's side mat and replace it because it was bunching and could get caught under the pedals.
Over all, this is a great first car- if you know its limits and work within them, you won't have a problem....read morehide

- Great Fuel Economy, and interior space, wonderful appearance
My husband and I purchased a 1996 Hyundai Enlantra in January of 2006 and really enjoy this car. We previosly owned a 2003 Kia Optima and wished we would have never purchased it. We finally decided it was not worth the headaches and decided to trade it in. We choses the Elantra and are very glad we did. The new car has not had any problems and is a pleasure to drive. I would defianely recommend it to anyone....read morehide

- great whip jared lansky
- mustard stains the seats too easily
Call me Jared Lansky and I can tell you that I dropped a hot dog and the mustard stained the seats, but this Hyundai is by far the sportiest and fastest car on the road and it gets great TV reception.
I lost a gold fish in the trunk. Great job Hyundai on this super Jared Lansky approved. Keep up the great schwartz!!...read morehide

- Inexpensive vehicle with more carrying space than you'd expect
- Seating is uncomfortable, leg room not great especially in the back
We wanted a basic car with decent gas mileage at a good price and are very happy with our Accent. We've owned it for 2 years now, have had no problems and are considering buying another one as a second car. One thing we didn't like about a lot of other small cars we test drove was the limited visibility out the back window. For some reason those rear windows keep shrinking and back seat head rests often block even more of what view there is. The Accent doesn't have this problem. We also like being able to have a car model without power windows for safety reasons and there are very few of those around either....read morehide

- Low price, 6 airbags standard including side curtains, great warranty
- Only 110hp
This car is fun to drive. City handling is brisk and responsive. The ride is firm. She cruises well at 80mph -- just keep two hands on the wheel. For me, it was this or the Honda Civic. But if you want a comparable price in the Honda, you'll have to go down to the DX which is $2000-$3000 more than the Accent. Go up to the LX, and price difference increases to almost $5000. Its looks, inside and out, are sedate but handsome. The dashboard is pleasantly basic. My only complaints about this car: acceleration to highway speed is labored and road noise is substantial. In the end, I chose this car for four reasons: 1. a safety (crash test) profile that almost matches the Civic and Corolla; 2. a price that beats all (with that safety rating); 3. a great warranty (10yr/100K mile drivetrain, 7yr/unltd mile rustproofing); 4. a decent build quality (Consumer Reports, J.D. Power). I might get the Civic next time around if the price is less of an issue. For the moment, price *is* an issue, and the Accent won this time....read morehide

- extremely quiet, smooth easy riding suspension, fuel economy
- this car has abolutely no snob appeal but actually this is a good thing
I love this car. Very good fuel economy. Engine runs very quiet and suspension is very soft and comfortable. Very nice interior materials. The way the doors close feels very solid and substantial. Everything about the car has a very high quality feel to it. No problems trouble free. Very long warranty. I bought new because the 10 year powertrain warranty is reduced if you by used. The pass through rear seat makes the trunk a lot bigger for moving large items. ABS and lots of airbags standard. I am so glad I bought this car now everyone who bought a gas guzzler truck or suv is feeling silly right now paying for gas.
This is NOT a race car. It is a smooth and soft riding economy car.
I payed about $5,000 less than an equivalently equipped Honda.
Only bad thing is that sometimes when you park with the steering wheel turned a certain way, when you try to start the car again, you have to jiggle the steering wheel up and down to get the key to turn in the ignition. My 97 elantra did the same thing so i was not alarmed.
My 97 elantra was still running trouble free with 115,000 miles when I traded it in so I have first hand experience with Hyundai quality. I wanted to buy American, but Detroit simply does not make any small, high quality, fuel efficient, inexpensive cars like this....read morehide
