2008 Hyundai Azera User Reviews
- $10,034 - $11,695
- VALUE, COMFORT, STANDARD EQUIPMENT
- NO I POD DOCKING CAPABILITY
I shopped for over a year, since I drive my cars ten years plus, and I wanted to be satisfied I made the right decision; so far I think I have. I also looked at the Avalon, Maxima, and Camry (with similar options) and even if they were equally priced (which they were not), I would have choosen the Azera.
I have a black on black limited with the ultimate package, many of my friends have used the word "beautiful" to describe my car, and a few who are in the market for a new car are "seriously" considering the Azera after they heard what I paid for it.
The engine is so quiet that I number of times I've turned the key a second time because I didn't think the car was running....read morehide

- Excellent reliability and no problems so far in 15 months
- None so far
Lacks navigation system. Recent long drive gave slightly over 25 MPG which is pretty reasonable. I get close to 20 MPG in the city. Sound system is good but not great. I get very good and courteous service at the dealer (PLANO, TX). Very roomy inside.

- Roomy, Great Ride, Quiet Cabin Noise Level
- Poor Trunk Design, Average MPG
Purchased '07 Azera to replace Cadillac CTS that was off lease. This car has more interior and trunk space, just as much pep and a quieter ride than my Caddy had at a price that was $10k less than what a new, equivalent CTS would have cost me.
I have one complaint regarding a manufacturer flaw with the trunk lid. I spoke with my service manager to verify and even though I have a '07, the same exists with the '08 as there was no design change. When it rains, if you need to open the trunk, expect to have water pouring into your trunk from both sides of the trunk lid.
THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS!!!
It is annoying and may lead to a damp musty situation with the trunk in the future.
To a lesser degree, have found a problem with the radio. When pressing the AM/FM/XM button, sometimes the sound is garbled or muffled requiring the radio to be turned off and on again to get proper sound. Of course this does not happen when you go to service as it only ocurrs about once in every 100-150 changes.
Still a great vehicle and I am now looking to replace a SUV and will likely purchase a Santa Fe....read morehide

- Exhilirating Acceleration, Extremely responsive and Excellent Build Quality
I bought this car one year ago for two reasons. Exterior Styling and Great Value for money. Since then I have been pleasantly surprised by its quality and performance. The comfort level of this car is perfectly adequate. The ride quality is balanced, not too soft to completely lose the feel of the road (Toyota Camry), but not too firm to feel that your feet were right on the road (Skoda Superb). The build quality is better than high end japanese brands and appear (after a year of experience) that it will hold well for the next few years. The interior space is ample and the boot is large enough to accommodate the most furious shopping sprees with room to spare for baby prams and accessories. The engine is surprisingly quite under all conditions, above 5000 RPM there is a bit of noise, but usually this level of engine fatigue is achieved at extremely high and dangerous speed levels. On more than one occasion I have accidently tried to start the engine when the car was already running. And on a sunny day there is absolutely no way of knowing whilst standing behind the car whether if the engine is on or off. That is saying quite a bit for a car that is Korean in Origin. But the best reason I love this car is for merely a simple fact, it brings on a big smile on my face when I don't quite expect it....read morehide

- Not bad. Could be up to par with the Lexus on the Fuel economy
- Rides like a 02 740 IL. Real tight
Need some work on the A/C Issue, heating the seats in codl weather, and on the CD player, but overall, this car is more than up to par with the Lexus and the BMW sedan's.

- dependable, decent MPG, engine responsiveness, features, good size
- slightly rough ride
I am driving an o6 I bought new. I have the 3.8 l engine. It has 25k on it already. I haven't had any issues with the car. I don't like the dealer but I have low expectations of all dealers. I would recommend this car and relative to others in its class it was a reasonable deal. Recently took a 600 mile road trip and it was a pleasure to have . I won't have any concerns about buying another Hyundai in the future....read morehide

- Lots of features. Pleasant Ride. Good engine performance. Great Seating
- Fuel economy is OK, not great. Appearance is very traditional
I bought my Azera used, with around 10,000 miles on it. The only problem was a center console cover that was broken, which seems to happen a lot with that part. The engine is smooth and responsive. Seating is great and the many features and low price point were big sellers for me. So far, I have had no problems with the care and really enjoy driving it. I have had no problems with brakes and tires as other posting have, but I have only driven the care 4,500 miles. Overall, at this point the car seems to be a great value and is very enjoyable to drive....read morehide

- Integrated GPS, VERY comfortable, well appointed interior, individual climate controls, XM radio
- In town gas mileage a little lower than it might be.
Purchased this car after looking at others in it's class - Accord, Camry, etc. Price to features ration was great. I've been driving it for 2 months now. In town gas runs around 19-21, expressway 26-27. I drive a great deal of expressway miles (6,000 since buying the car), and I have checked the mileage by hand vs the onboard computer readout - it is accurate. The Azera travels smooth and quiet, excellent acceleration and handling. The transmission shifts smooth and decisively through the gears, no clunking or jerking. The trunk is unbelievably spacious - to quote my wife, "big enough for two bodies" (she's a Soprano's fanatic). Throw in the free oil changes for life, and it is a solid deal. Both of my kids own Hyundais, and the company seems to really stand behind it's guarantees. Highly recommended....read morehide

- lambda 3.8L engine features
- none if i do the warranty vocers it
I love this car. I baby all of the cars I own. I put floormats over the factory floormats and steering wheel covers over the wheel as soo as I get them off the lot. This one is no exception. Korea has come a long way in it's cars. Yeah I hear they steal styling cues...what US automaker doesn't do that? I hear the badge elitists knocking Hyundai. To them I say drive an Azera Ltd. It will change your opinion. Not thin doored like the Honda and Toyota competition. Makes you feel safe. The engine, trans, drive axel, and exhaust systems are soooo perfect together. I average 22.7 mpg between city and hwy. Idrive 27 miles each way for work and now that I have bought this the SUV stays in the garage and my family of 5 cruises around in this for everything. Test drive it and see for yourself. If you need a good dealership come to Bradley, IL. They will treat you well. Do be desuaded by a review that contains "bad dealerships" that is way to general. If you hate yours that does not represent all of them....read morehide

- The car has been superb for almost 40,000 miles.
- Ride can be rough with a full load and combined fuel economy is only 19 to 20 MPG
Very good car. Almost 40,000 miles with no service other than routine maintenance. Everything is still as tight as when new.
No problems with brakes or tires.
