I bought my car new in Nov. 2009, It's 14 months old and have about 12,000 miles on it , It's Carbon Grey SE automatic, I added a moonroof and all the rails and front and rear deflectors, and Bluetooth.. I love my car, but the quality isn't the best. The low-profile tires are terrible in the snow, they slide very easily.no traction. (it scares me). The tires also add a bumpy ride. I wonder if I can change to regular tires and rims? There's a lot of wind noise,(can't close the windows any tighter, I just turn the radio louder. I wish the seat controls were automatic. The headrest seems to be in the way when looking backwards to back up, I had to raise it and look between it and the top of the seat. I love all the rest of the features, especially the roomy trunk, I needed more room than my Honda Civic had....read morehide

I purchased a new Elantra Touring two months ago and what a car. I was very leery about the Hyundai brand. After doing a lot of research on the car (Elantra Touring) and found it to be exactly what I was looking for. No the other car on the market, that was affordable, offered what the Touring did for the price. The car is hot, great color, tinted windows, 17in custom wheels, sun roof and good power. Handles like a sports car, which I have owned many. I am having a great time driving it, some people don't like the stiff suspension, I think it is a perfect driver. I live in Tucson and the air conditioner is just right for hot summers. I also have back problems and with the wide opening doors and the tilt steering wheel, it is not difficult to get in and our of. Interior is excellent, good seats with lots of support and very roomy, and the
XM radio is a very good feature. Any way, love my Elantra Touring SE automatic...read morehide4 out of 9 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Good MPG, Looks, Warranty, Many Extras.
- Cons
- 5 Speed? [No big deal] Auto Lights. [No big deal]

I did a lot of research on this car before I bought it. I am very glad that I decided on this car. You will have no buyers remorse if you do also. It was originally German engineered, and has been running in Europe as the I30. This is a solid little car.
The vehicle looks great. There are not that many on the road which is also a plus. If you can afford the extra money for the SE model, it is well worth it.
The car gets tighter, and quieter the more I drive it. With my driving habits I am averaging 31.3 MPG.
Be sure to check the available incentives at the time of your purchase. I got a $1,000.00 rebate, off of the invoice price, plus 3.99% for 60 months financing through Hyundai Financial.
If you do not Qualify for the 3.99% and go through regular finance be sure to ask them what the buy rate is.
{Buy rate}? This is what the banks charge the Dealer. The Dealer then adds points to the rate that he quotes you. This adds extra cost to your payment, and extra profit for the Dealer. Tell them you will only pay the buy rate. Do not pay for the etch, or any other stupid add ons. I negotiated the Title and Documentation fees, to pay for the tinted windows and mud guards.
With the seats folded down, the back area is 63.2 cubic ft. HUGE.
Too many extras to mention.
All in all, this is a great car, and you will not be disappointed.
Go to Hyundai.com and build and price your own, and check incentives. Then go to Edmonds.com, there you can see invoice, and what people are paying in your area. Go into the Dealer prepared. If you have a trade in. Tell them about that after you have negotiated the price. LOL....read morehide25 out of 46 people found this review helpful.

- Great economy, roomy, well equiped and great warranty.
- Cons
- Lacks roof rack and stiff ride.

A great vehicle, As a former Subaru Outback owner the Hyundai Touring has more head and foot room for the driver. More leg room for back seat passengers, better gas mileage and warranty.

- Pros
- Lots of room everywhere, good on gas, warrany...
- Cons
- Lack of color choices (good luck finding carbon gray), why no 16" wheels, needs 5th gear...
Purchased As New
Always wanted a station wagon for my needs, long weekend get-aways with lots of hiking/camping gear and a full car of friends. I got sick of our Mazda 3 (sedan) noisy hwy. ride and after a few trips in rental Elantra sedans, which I found to be quiet and well-build all around cars, decided to check out ET and decided that this was the car I wanted. I looked at other wagons/hatches from WV and Mazda 3 but the price was at least a few grands higher + I didn't want Mazda again. I was really looking for '09 touring with "16 wheels, as those would be less punishing on long road trips as compared to more sportier 17" onces, but had no luck finding one. Didn't want metal wheels with wheel covers neither (not that anything wrong with them, just my preference for alloy wheels) that come with '10 GLS, so eventually settled on the SE and "17 wheels. Color choices are very limited too, had no luck finding anything than red or silver (I hate silver), so got the red one instead.
On our first trip, NYC-Rochester (~720m) the very next day after the purchase, I got 33.3MPG with c/control on ~62 avg speed. Excellent. MPG drops to ~28 in the city. The ride was comfy, though not as quite as in Elantra sedan, still a lot less noisy than in our Mazda. I would imaging that "15 or "16 wheels would add to slightly less bumpy ride and perhaps a bit more quieter too. This is not to say that I am not happy with SE, it is very agile, handling is sharp - not far off from Mazda's, and it even picks off faster than my Mazda used too. I am still getting used to all the space around me as apposed to Mazda's rather tight sitting. Takes time to figure out the elbow/ foot placement and such. Three adults had no problem fitting into the rear seat with plenty of leg room to spare.
To sum up, it is a great car with firm yet not punishing and quieter ride than my Mazda 3 was with respectable MPG and a lot of room. Hyundai really came a long way in quality and looks department and is less pricey than its competitors' offerings are....read morehide48 out of 83 people found this review helpful.

- Cons
- Front seats too firm

After lots of research, we decided on the new Elantra Touring for our first "family" car. The safety and convenience features are fabulous. We love the stereo, especially the iPod connectivity. We're still undecided about XM radio; it's great, but I'm not sure if I want to pay for it. The displays are easy to read and the controls are intuitive. I would rather have had power front seats than heated front seats, but I may feel differently if we have a cold winter. If people wanted to pay for them, leather seats and a navigation system might have been nice options. I liked the feel of driving with the 17" wheels better than the 16", so that and the sunroof are why we chose the SE. I'd hate to ask for more features because the price really can't be beat by anything similarly equipped in its class, and Hyundai has the best warranty. I never thought I'd want a red car, but I liked the Chili Pepper Red with Beige interior so much more than the black interior or the silver or blue that only come with black interior. The black and gray colors were nowhere to be found in my area. I'm a new mom, and installing the infant carseat couldn't have been easier. The back seat and storage area are very roomy and easy to load. Some reviewers have complained about lack of power, but for a commuter who takes some pretty windy roads with an infant in the back seat, it has all the power I need as it handles perfectly and feels very safe. Besides, I wouldn't want them to have to increase the price and reduce the fuel economy for a more powerful engine. The only thing I'm having trouble getting used to is the firmness of the front seats. For looks, cargo, and value -- if you're looking at other small wagons and crossovers, don't overlook the Elantra Touring! I am so glad I found this car....read morehide
