Best value out there. The car has real pick up - even now with 144,000+ miles. Besides scheduled maintenance, I have had no issues with this car. I can't say enough good things about how reliable this car is. It handles quite well in all types of weather. I live in Maine so there is a lot of snow and salt, even during the summer because I live and work near the ocean.
Did the belts around 80K, front brakes at 100K, timing belt & water pump at 125K, drums on rear brakes at 130K. I've had to get tires more than I'd like - but I travelled dirt roads frequently. I'm on my 5th set of tires (I'll admit the first two sets were cheap, but even so). The windshield wipers were not the best - the motors seem like they could be stronger, because I tried different types of blades. I just use the winter ones year round.
Even after 145K, the car still handles very well and still has a lot of spunk. I drive a stick. It is easy to get more power even on the highway, I don't even have to drop it in 4th.
I initially looked at Hyundais because I have a low budget. The warranty was great for peace of mind as well. I had expected a bland car - but it was a great surprise. The car is fantastic and even if I win the lottery, I'll go right back to get another Hyundai.
The trunk is very spacious, the car is quite comfortable. Visibility is outstanding.
