2012 Hyundai Elantra
There are 40 user reviews for the GLS A/T trim shown below
- Sleek Interior that looks wonderful at night, 40mpg on the highway, Price
- Needs better shock absorbtion, needs to continue eliminating highway driving noise from the road.
Purchased As New
After test driving 5/6 of the most fuel efficient cars in this class, the Elantra shined. We were able to walk out of the dealership with a brand new 2012 Elantra for under 20k after taxes and fees.
There are a couple areas that still have room for improvement. The potholed roads can be a little on the bumpy/rough side at times. Hopefully they will put a little more into eliminating this experience in the future. The other is in the area of road noise on the highway. The noise isn't unbearable, but has some room for continued improvement for a better driving experience. It would be nice to have the ability to dim the radio display, but it's a soft blue light so it's not a significant detractor.
The pros heavily outweigh the cons of this particular car. The mpg quotes listed on the car are spot on. Our first trip on the highway netted us 40mpg highway with the "eco" option on and using cruise control. We look forward to pushing the car to obtain closer to the 47mpg highway it has the capability to obtain. The atmosphere inside the car at night is rather soothing.
I would recommend the grey interior for the basic GLS (as few add-ons as you can find) Elantra for maximizing value and appearance.
If this model/company continues pushing fuel efficiency and keeps the price around where it's at, they will continue to surge to the top of the class.
A very pleased first time Hyundai buyer.
