- Comfortable and nice looking
- Horrible brakes
Purchased As New
We've had this car into the dealership and contacted Hyundai so many time in the first year because of brake problems we have lost track just how many times it's even been. Hyundai just seemed to not take it serious and the brakes keep getting worse so we have now filed formal complaints with the NHTSA. The brakes make horrible grinding and creaking noises. If you let off the brakes lightly as in stop-and-go traffic is sometimes shakes the front end. After doing a search online it appears overall the 2013 Hyundai Elantra has very bad brake problems, there are many people complaining, but Hyundai is acting like an ostrich burying their head in the sand thinking it will fix itself. The dealership is now trying to get us to pay to have the brakes cleaned to see if that will fix the problem they've failed to fix since we bought it new. We have owned several new Hyundai's but after this horrible problem they have failed to fix, will never buy a Hyundai again and we are now going to have to report this under our state's Lemon law. I called Hyundai today and told them I now submitted it to the NHTSA and will pursue it under our state's lemon law and it seems to finally have lit a fire under their butt, however the lady commented that they have on record that we've notified them several times already in the first year and no one there did anything to resolve it or follow up. Terrible noises and I just wonder what failures later on it will cause, no one will want buy it off us now and its a little over a year old and worthless!
