Purchased As New
I had a problem with some of the lights in the center cluster going out. Dealer had me to bring it in for repair. They had to send new cluster off to get the odometer calibrated to actual miles on car. I told the tech guy, I thought something was off about the calibration on the old cluster and Speedometer, to have it checked. The MPG calculator in the cluster was giving me 2 1/2 MPG more than my hand calculator after filling with gas and checking. I went out of town the next week and used my GPS, which is dead on by GPS satelite when checking your speed. The speedometer was showing I was going 70 MPH and my GPS was showing 65 MPH. I called the dealership on that Monday and after telling the Service advisor about the wide difference, he sounded surprized and said to bring it in and they would check it out. What a waist of time. Someone in the service office and a mechanic, drove off with my car and another new car, just like mine. When they returned, I was told all their cars were set up to run five MPH slower than what is actually on the speedometer to keep there customers from getting speeding tickets. Have you ever heard such a line of crap!!
If everything is off bye 5 MPH or 5MPG on the cluster and if all there cars are running 5 MPH slower than we are going at 60 MPH. Hyundai will not be responsible for 5,000 miles of your 100,000 mile warranty, or 2,900 of your 6,000 mile warranty. If this is what is going on with all Hyundai cars, then we Hyundai car owners at large are losing hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of miles of warranty miles. How many times have you had car problems right after your warranty ran out. How much money will Hyundai save by just setting your speedometer up 5 MPH. I don't know about you, but I bought this car on warranty and gas MPG. The car looks good, but in this digital age. I think we can do better than 5 MPH off. Then try to convince me its for my on good. This was an insult. To keep me from getting a speeding ticket !! Is that the best you can come up with??12 out of 13 people found this review helpful.
