2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

- Beautiful, Fun to drive, good audio (even in standard version) Love it
- Ride is really rough on bumpy roads (thats expected since its a sports car) no back seat space
Purchased As Used
I purchased a used 2010 Genesis coupe auto with 17,500 miles on it I absolutely love it. The car is a BLAST to drive, you never get bored and it always feels fun and sporty. RWD is not a problem with traction control, a few bricks in the trunk and a careful driver it really isn't an issue at all. I got the model with the least amount of options and I still absolutely love it. A lot of people say the audio system is bad and I thought that too the first time I drove it, but the second time I drove it I played around with the bass and the different sounds and to my surprise it really made a difference in the sound and clarity and I began to be impressed with the quality. The only bad thing I would say is that if you live in an area with bumpy roads and bad winters (EX. New York) do not buy this car. On smooth roads its fine no problems but if you live in an area with constant bumpy roads it gets really annoying but that's expected with any sports car but it's just a warning....read morehide

- Sporty look, bluetooth technology, AM/FM/XM stereo sounds great, sunroof, turbo power, comfy seats
- Int. door panels scratch easily, transmission issue at 12K mi, A/C drains power, can't rotate tires
Purchased As New
After purchasing my first Hyundai two years ago (2008 Hyundai Veracruz) and being impressed, I decided to purchase my 2010 Genesis Coupe as a Valentine's gift for my wife in February.
I was somewhat reluctant to buy the car at first, since I am 6'1, 205 lbs and need all the room I can get when I drive. After about two weeks of driving this car, I quickly adjusted to its size and fell in LOVE with this car and it is so FUN to drive. The 2.0 liter Turbo is quite impressive although when the A/C is turned on, the power is drastically reduced. Overall, I really like the Genesis Coupe, however, it does have its negative points.
The interior door panels are constructed of cheap plastic material that scratches very easily. The blue colored radio display on the dashboard is very distracting at night and makes it almost impossible to read the time and temperature settings. I would recommend a white background display rather than blue. Another complaint is that there is no way to turn the air flow off. The air is always blowing through the vents and I haven't found any way to turn it off. You either get A/C or outside air at all times.
My biggest complaint is that it is currently at the dealership getting a BRAND NEW transmission put in it and the car is only 8 months old and has 12,500 miles on it. The vehicle has recently been experiencing intermittent issues with downshifting upon acceleartion while trying to pass other motorists. The Hyundai service tech also noticed that when the vehicle gear shifter is moved into the "PARK" position, there is a loud "clunking" noise. Hyundai engineers say this is not normal and needs a new transmission. Although the transmission is being replaced under warranty, I am pretty disappointed with Hyundai in that a transmission should not need replacing after only 8 months. Hyundai has provided me with a brand new 2011 Sonata to drive in the mean time (NICE CAR!!).
I haven't lost all faith and confidence in Hyundai just yet. I hope after getting my Genesis Coupe back from the dealer next week, I will continue to have many more trouble free years, as I really LOVE this little car....read morehide

- Good looking, great handling and snappy acceleration
- none, this car is a fun ride
Purchased As New
First off, I am a great GrandPa, so this car is not just for the young, but the young at heart, too!
Handling is great, reminds me of the old XKE Jags of years ago. The little 2 liter is very peppy and after a tiny bit of turbo lag, gets down to business making neat highway sounds as it zips down the
The car comes pretty much fully equipped, with electric everything and trick stuff like that USB port so I can plug in my memory stick and enjoy that old time rock n' roll while I'm motoring down the road to the Seniors Citizens center for lunch.
At speed, there is very little road noise and for a sports car, it rides fairly well too.
Fit and finish on this car is excellent, and this is from a retired NASA QC (quality control) guy, so, I know a little about this subject.
To sum this up, this car is a great buy and well worth the money. I'm getting about 24.5 MPG but the engine isn't broken in yet, and I do exercise the turbo a little too much sometimes....read morehide

- no room for snowboard^^
Purchased As New
bought the blue car last night for my 19 years old son and this morning he took his sister to school and go wild about his new car and dying to show to his friends (he's taking shower now). He used to drive my 2002 BMW X5 for over a year and never showed his appreciation. He is so happy and promise that he'll look for a job so he could make the payment. I have to wait maybe a year or more for my new car but I am so happy that my son is over joyed....read morehide

- one of the most elegant designs i have seen on a coupe
- the options of the different trims. wish the 2.0 track model came with automatic transmission
Purchased As Used
Drives beautifully. I've been looking forward to this car ever since it's announcement, and now I am SO glad I am buying this car. Though I'm getting it used, it's in pretty much perfect condition, and thanks to Hyundai's low resale value, I'm getting it for only $12,000! (salvage title though, hard to find a used car that's just been released) This car has just such an amazing look. And the performance feels great. I actually enjoy driving to work now. However, i am most contempt with the appearance and the price. You can't get any other car like this with the price $24,000. (new) Hyundai has finally done itself some good with the Genesis and the Genesis Coupe....read morehide
