- Exciting car to drive, great looks, outstanding value and warranty, Hyundai quality.
- Challenging to shift smoothly.
Purchased As New
I purchased this car paying cash for my youngest son to drive. I have a Santa Fe Limited Editon which I love, but I like this Coupe so much that I am thinking of selling my '86 Firebird T-top in excellent condition for my own Coupe as my "sunshine" car. It is fun to drive and the performance and added amenities are awesome. It is an eye catcher for sure....read morehide

I was considering ford mustang and genesis for my purchase, test drove both cars and ford is no match to genesis. It is a bit rough for a girl but the appearance of the car and manual drive do make me comfortable and confident while driving

- Fuel economy, striking appearance, responsive steering, excellent cockpit display
- Limited visibility through rear window, jerky gear shifting, sunroof noise
Purchased As New
I've wanted this car since it first came out. Test drove both the 3.8 V6 and the turbo I4 and, surprisingly, I liked the I4 better. In my opinion, the I4 has a lighter, more spritely feel. Though rated at almost 100 fewer hp than the V6, the I4 has plenty of pick up to it. I have passed quite a few idiots on the road in my I4. Fuel economy is excellent; I get 28-30 mpg if I go easy on the turbo & 23-25 mpg if I've got a heavy foot. The outside styling is striking; I have gotten many compliments and stares. Inside styling is equally good and concise. While driving, looking behind you through the rear window limits visibility, very similar to the Tiburon. Shifting from first to second gear can be quite jerky; this takes a bit of getting used to in order to achieve a smooth transition. Trunk space is surprisingly spacious though trunk opening is narrow. I recommend using premium fuel. I've run the car on both 87 and 93 octane. The higher octane gives the car a small boost (nothing to write home about), but performance and turbo wind-up seem noticeably smoother. The backseats are mainly for decoration. Yes, you can fit a couple baby humans or short people back there, but DEFINITELY not recommended for anybody taller than 5'4". Sunroof is nice, but does not come equipped with an air guard, so if the sunroof is completely opened at speeds over 35mph, the rubber strip vibrates with the wind and makes a very irritating buzzing noise. Take note: buy a wind guard if you get the sunroof. Overall, I'm very pleased with the car and do not regret buying it for a minute. There are a couple issues that irk me, but I find them to be minor and don't spoil the fun I'm having with this car....read morehide

- Performance, Looks, Comfort, Features
- Lacks rear windshield wiper. Interior panels could be nicer

This car is awesome. I use it as a commuter car, and it is a blast to drive. It brakes when I need it to, and accelerates very well in order to pull into traffic, or steer clear of a dangerous situation. I find the visibility to be WAY better then my Tiburon, and the seats are snug and comfortable. It also has a load of features that suits all of my needs. This car has all the features that I wished I had in the Tiburon.
The only change I would have suggested was adding a rear windshield wiper and also making the interior panels a bit different.
All in all, I love this car....read morehide
