- Price, dependibility amount of options for money.
- Check engine light is erratic on off on off.
Bought the gls 2004 2.7 engine. Not a problem with it other than the check engine light seems to have a mind of its own. On and off when every it feels like it. Had it checked and service people say it might be fuel injectors? With only 4000 mile the first time on I kind of doubted that and it went off after a couple of days. Since then on and off a couple of times. does not affect anything and other wise is an execellent vehicle....read morehide

- Great Standard Features, looks nice and rides very well.
- Gas mileage is not that great and front seat doesn't slide back far enough.
I own a 2004 GLS 3.5L Santa Fe.
I have to say I really enjoy the Santa Fe, regardless of what the guy above me said, sounds like he doesn't even own one.
The interior is very nice, the seats are covered with high quality materials, the inside plastics are of good quality. I traded in a Toyota Tacoma and can tell you the interior is much nicer.
Mine came with a sunroof and a 6 disc cd changer and I really enjoy them both! The stereo has 218 watts of power and the speakers and tweeters in the front doors really sound great! I've never had so much bass available in my front doors before, wow!
The sunroof is extra large, not one of those tiny ones that come with most cars. My 8 year old really loves it!
The back seats are large and comfortable, plus they even lean back! Not many automobiles I know that have reclining back seats. Good head support and theres even an arm rest that folds down between the seats! Again a favorite of my 8 year old!
They performance in my opinion is excellent, the 200hp V-6 is very strong with nice torque on the low end. Took it on a trip to San Antonio recently, it has a ton of power, 100mph with ease, plus the engine sounds really good, nice throaty sound.
If you can handle the gas issue, I highly recommend the 200hp 3.5L V-6, it's very nice!
The 3.5L comes with standard traction control and 4 wheel 4 channel ABS disk brakes and 4 air bags in the front for added safety. Plus 5 year unlimited mileage roadside assistance for free.
The warranty can't be beat, 5 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper, plus 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty!
Overall, you can't beat what you get for your money in any other automobile in my opinion.
I traded in my Toyota Tacoma Double Cab with the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty, which started giving me problems right when the warranty was about to expire!
Give a Santa Fe a try, you won't be dissapointed!...read morehide
