2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
There are 7 user reviews for the SE AWD trim shown below
- Safety features, quick to adjust
- Interior upholstery, back seats a little tight
Purchased As New
Bought this car in the first quarter of 2007. Had to take it to the dealer for a leaking seal in a valve a few months afterward.Had it for 2 years and 25k miles now. Took it camping in the mountains, where it handled pretty well for a steap, muddy mess. The AWD gets this thing running really hot if you're not careful though, even if you're driving very slow. Living in central Nevada you expect to be driving long distances. For the most part I've had 19/20 mpg but at times have had up to 27mpg.
The check engine light has come on 2 times now. Both times it was because I did not click the gas cap in all the way when fueling up. Well really only once, because I did it the second time to trick my wife into taking care of, and cleaning her OWN car.
Midway through 2008 the upholstery started to come off from behind the interior doorhandles. Took it to the dealer, where they did not seem to concerned about ever getting it fixed. Considering they've told us multiple times(like others) that the upholstery guy is out.
This vehicle thus far has not been to much of a hassle. Handles great, The only real complaints I have is the upholstery and the tight fit for people in the backseats. Getting a rear facing carseat into the backseats makes it a tight squeeze for people in the front, and the third row is even tighter. It's gotta be the seats, cause I'm only 5'5"....read morehide

- Very good suspension, interior well presented along with overall appearance.
- poor gas mileage; cloth seat material needs a bit of an upgrade.
Window sticker estimates 19city/24highway MPG. I have yet to achieve either one with actual mileage being at least, if not more, 10% lower than advertised. I have taken 2 round trips of 800 miles and 600 miles respectively and the best, STRAIGHT highway mileage I achieved was 21.5 MPG. The odometer records 19.6 MPG overall but I have my doubts about that. I've had the vehicle checked at two servicings and was advised fuel trims are up to specifications. I purchased this vehicle knowing, rather, believing the fuel consumption to as advertised. BIG disappointment. You might question my driving habits to be the problem here, but, I must say to you that on my last 4 GM cars, I ALWAYS met or exceeded their window sticker's estimated MPG. Seems like Hyundai Santa Fe might be padding their estimated MPG, OR. the Service Dept is not going beyond fuel trims for another problem....read morehide

- Good fuel economy, smooth ride, very quiet, lot of power
- Hard to find 3rd row seating in SE or GLS
I bought the AWD 3.3 liter Santa Fe a week back. From day 1 it is fantastic to drive. There is lot of cargo room. Rides very smooth, I drove around 300 mile on the highway and got around 23 mpg. I believe I will get more on the highway once it pass 1000 miles. In City, currently getting around 18. You can put child car seat any where in the seat. It can also be put on the center of the seat. Has lot of storage room. Good ground clearance.
If anybody is looking to buy a compact or mid size SUV, should at least test drive this one before taking a decision.
The Value for money is excellent. For additional 1600$, I got 100,000 miles bumper to bumper transferable warranty coverage which includes rent a car....read morehide

- Great vehicle for the cost, and a huge improvement over our '03
- Could use a front seat area dome lamp that operates with the doors
Well, we've had our '07 SE AWD for a couple weeks now, and are very pleased. Our previous one was an '03 and we loved that. It only was in for one issue; an airbag check lamp. That was resolved with the replacement of the driver's seat back (side airbag). We got an email from Hyundai informing us of the new model Santa Fe's, and the $500 owner loyalty incentive. So, I got online and did my homework. We looked at the things we felt we wanted and settled on the SE AWD. Then we looked at our local dealer's online inventory only to find they did not have what we wanted for exterior and interior colors, in an SE with AWD and only floor mats/cargo mat/cargo net for options. So I called them the next day, and two days later they had procured one from a dealer in the Chicago area. We were brave enough to not even test drive a new '07 before we sat in ours and drove it off, lol! But, we knew if we liked the old one, that more room everywhere, more standard features, and 70 more ponies under the hood would not be a bad thing. So far, we know we made the right choice. You simply cannot match the value of the Santa Fe for it's cost, and warranty. Hyundai hit a home run with the styling and performance as well....read morehide

- Looks Great, Smooth Ride, Great Price
- CAn't put carseat in center, No floor mats,
Never thought I would get a hyundai, but this car really impressed me on the test drive. I was initally thinking Honda Pilot. Toyota Highlander or Subaru Tribeca, but after test driving teh Santa Fe I was SOLD. Looks like a luxury vehicle inside and out and at a really reasonable price.
I was a bit dissapointed that a car seat can't be placed in the center and can only be on left or right side of vehicle, which is not the safest choice for a car seat. But I don't have any kids, so it doesn't affect me yet.
I was suprised that it didn't come with floor mats, i thought that was cheesy, but other than that, it has been a PLEASURE to drive!!...read morehide

- Looks Great!
- Floor Mats! There are no floor mats!
Wonderful vehicle, would buy again. The 9007 is in a class all it's own.
It turns heads and people don't believe it's a hyundai.

- The best car I have owned! Love it everyday!
I've put 110,000 miles on my 2003 and it is still going strong. I've never been happier with a vehicle. Interior is wonderful and the best of it's class. Love the exterior look. I've only had routine maintenance done on it so far. Buying price fit into my budget. Reliable vehicle! I'm hoping to get another 100,000 miles from it because I dread the day of having to get something else....read morehide
