- Good price, great interior design and quality, great cruising gas mileage
- Breaks squeak when wet or cold, horrible stop and go mileage, finicky door handles
I have had this car for about eight months now. Over all, I'm very impressed with it, and am glad to have the many amenities and comfort of a new car that is reliable.
While shopping for this vehicle, I noticed a warning from another member here that said this car had "serious engine problems! Do not buy!" Well, anyone with an ounce of common sense would realize that if your vehicle had engine trouble within the warranty (extended @ Jack Giambalvo Hyundai by five years if you go there for all of your service), the dealership would take care of everything. By the way, I'd do buisness with these guys again. As a first time car buyer, they were wonderful, and did everything they could to make the car I wanted affordable.
The Triptonic transmission is a bonus, especially for going down steep hils. If only this car had a tachometer, I could drive it in manual all the time and save a couple of bucks. Needless to say, as long as you keep cruisin', your gas mileage is awesome. If you've got stop and go traffic for a mile or more, expect to eat up your tank very quickly. This car was made for crusing and road trips.
City driving isn't so bad, though. I drive about 14 miles to work, and have to fill up about every two and a half weeks or so. It's about the same as my '96 Grand Am, which isn't anything to write home about.
The ESP is also wonderful, as is the safety of having all SIX airbags, and lumbar support. ^_^
