My 2013 Sonata Limited is a family commuter sedan with the soul of a rally racer. The styling is striking--the body looks like it was sculpted from liquid metal. The Harbor gray metallic paintjob is so glossy, it always looks wet. Gray leather interior is refined & comfortable. Build quality seems excellent inside & out. 2.4L non-turbo is as quick as a cat. Steering is very sensitive and responsive. Braking is equally assertive. It feels like a high-strung racecar! Automatic transmission is silent & silky smooth. On my daily commute, I feel like a cat among mice. Car is very quiet inside & out and has zero vibration. Even so, if you want a marshmallow-soft interstate cruiser, buy something else, because this thing is a handful!. The GPS, bluetooth, and backup camera all function perfectly. Factory sound is outstanding! Audio is very detailed with plenty of rich, punchy bass. Fuel economy is running about 33MPG mixed city/hwy so far. Not too shabby! I got a modern & refined (if somewhat spirited) luxury car at a blue-collar price. I have ZERO buyer’s remorse!...read morehide

Ive had the car for a year now and its still fun to drive. Thirty nine mpg on trips makes me want to go somewhere. Could use a little more comfort for my 80 year old bones but Im happy.

I traded in my 2011 GLS for a 2012 2.0 Turbo Limited. It's got the dual-moon roof which is great for the kid to look out. Heated, leather seats all around. Touchscreen GPS with rear-back up camera. All of those perks give the car a lexus or mercedes feel to it which i just love. Also, the car performs spectacular. I have never owned a car with such speed and power and it is definitely fun to drive....read morehide

We bought a new Limited Turbo, Harbor Gray Sonata and really love it. We made our decision based on several trips we made out of state a couple of months before the purchase. The first rental we got was the Sonata and just the regular rental version, no frills. The second rental we got was a Toyota Camry. There was no comparison on how much nicer the Sonata was not only in ride and handling, but quality of interior. The only issue I have is the service prices. We recently had the 30,000 mile service done and they charged $50+ for battery service which means they basically cleaned off the terminals, put on a piece of red and green felt and some cheap coating to prevent corrosive build up. I could have bout the kit for $5 and dont it myself in 15 minutes tops. They also charged 50+ dollars to rotate and balance the tires. Did not see any signs of where the weights were adjusted on the tires so doubt if they were balanced and with a lift, rotating the tires takes what 15 minutes. Walked out paying over $200....read morehide

- Cons
- Front Passenger seat sits low

The new Sonata is one of the best buying decisions I ever made. This car has more than lived up to its promise of good fuel economy and comfort. My wife and I often take weekend roadtrips together, and the Sonata makes them a pleasure. It's nothing for us to put 500 or 600 miles on the car in each direction for a quick jaunt to a not so nearby National Park or off to Las Vegas, or just someplace we've never been together before. My wife is s5'3", and the only complaint I heard from her was that she felt like she sat low in the passenger seat. But she's gotten used to it and it doesn't bother her now. The gas mileage has been great! Easily exceeding the 28mpg over all average rating by 2-4 mpg. As my every day driver, and our "family road-trip" car, I'm very pleased with the Sonata...read morehide

I bought this car about a month ago and now have 1200 miles on it. If I could I would return it to the dealer. I am looking into the lemon law in the state. My big problem with the car is that it tends to WANDER on the highway and will not track straight. I've had it into the dealer on 3 occasions and they tell me everything is within spec. The head mechanic took it out with me and verified that it wanders but said that it is typical for this car. I even test drove 3 other Sonata's and they all exhibited this wandering problem. My understanding is that it was worse in the first two years of this model. Based on this problem I can't recommend this car to anyone. Hyundai corporate's answer is to get used to it....read morehide

After looking at new cars for about six months my wife and I finally pulled the trigger on this car. (The first new car I've ever purchased I might add.) Needless to say we are beyond disappointed. Hyundai offers a great warranty and the new styles are all appealing. But, the car doesn't perform as advertised. Hyundai is paying for 1 to 2 mpg plus 15% however, this comes up short. The listed mileage for city driving is 35. The first month or so it was around 30, but since has been well below on every tank of gas. We feel very misled and undercompensated. We could have bought a straight gas engine car, saved thousands, had similar mpg, and a full trunk. Contacted Hyundai and all they said was they are not currently doing anymore than what is listed above. Almost forgot......I live in PA. The motor is sluggish and jerks upon take off on cold mornings. Nice feature!...read morehide

This has been the most unpleasant experience of my life. This P.O.S.'s engine seized at under 15k miles due to a headgasket failure. Something often reserved for the 150k mile range. And it just gets worse from there. Fixed under dealer warranty, but not having a car for a week was a real pain. Not to mention when my car was fixed...I was forced to sit in this pile of garbage once again! EVERYTHING inside is of the cheapest quality. Plastics that do not fit right, and seats that is far too uncomfortable to sit in for anything more than 30 minutes. Did I mention I am already getting some rust on this car? RUST on a "brand new" car? I do not know how this company is still around....read morehide
