- Pros
- The overall price for this vehicle is good.
- Cons
- Cabin is noisy.
Purchased As New
Good fuel economy. Many small features added which is a plus, such as seat heaters, and the light over the mirror on the sun visors.
It doesn't handle well on fast turns (easy to lose control), cabin is not very quiet, no meintenance required reminder light, defogger takes too long to clear front windshield...read morehide5 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

My wife had 2012 Sonata GLS before the marriage and gave it to her dad.
Purchased it in Nov 2011 and got 30k on it.
Ever since about 10k, car started having a squaking sound when braking and took it to the dealer.
After a few month, the sound became louder and took it back to the dealer. No loaner car is provided and the car is still at the dealer (it's been 12 days so far and counting). The dealer stated that the sound was coming from the ball bearing which could be covered by the warranty, so they fixed it, but they've noticed first that sound never went away.
They are now blaming on the driver of the car that they drove the car so roughly that the inner part of the tire is cracked that all 4 tires has to be replaced for $600 which is not covered by the warranty!!!
This is what Hyundai does. Let's think simple.
Unless the tires are torned and needs to be replaced, they are covered by the warranty. Highend tires like Good Year or Michellin tires last for up to 6-7 years 60-70k. I doube that Hyundai put those tires in it. but they must have put in something in between 4-5 years 50-60k.
Again the car was bought in Nov 2011 and has 30k on it.
That's about 1 year and 4 months and well under 50k even 40k. And they are blaming it on a driver for the problem occuring in inner part of tires?? #$%$?
And it took them 12 days to just to find that out?
This is absurd.
They just put out that sweet words saying 10 year power terrain warranty thing to trick their customers.
oops. It's driver's fault, it's not covered under warranty.

oops. It's driver's fault, it's not covered under warranty.
That's what they'll do all the time.
At least, other european or japanese brands start having problems after the warranty, unlike Hyundai....read morehide5 out of 14 people found this review helpful.

Bought the 2013 Sonata GLS in 12/12 and love it. It's got the best warranty on the market, good reliability, and is a better value than the Accord or the Camry.

- Pros
- Styling, comfort, fuel economy, warranty, and compliments from other drivers.
- Cons
- A little bit of wind noise, but not noticeable with the great stereo.

This is a great car and a tremendous value considering all of the standard features on this car compared to other cars in its class. I drove it about 900 miles in the first three weeks and it was flawless, very comfortable and a lot of fun to drive.
I put three coats of Liquid Glass auto polish on my new Sonata before hitting the road and it just glides through the wind.
The MSRP sticker was $23,425 on my Shimmering White ($200) with the Popular Equipment Package (Get It) plus floor mats, cargo tray, cargo net, mud guards, wheel locks and Auto-dimming rearview mirror.
This is my first Hyundai and I am sure it won't be my last.
After taking advantage of $1500 Holiday Cash Back, $1700 Dealer Discount, $500 Competitive Car Discount, $500 Military Veteran Discount (show DD-214) and a $500 Motozuma cash matching discount, I ended up with a "Drive-out price" of $20,500 including tax, tag & dealer fees....read morehide2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.
