- Looks great, Built tight, convinient instrument arrangement
- wish it had a overdrive.
My second Hyundai. Traded in my 2001 elantra. Did my research before buying the Tuscon and found that it is the best deal going. even before the rebate and return customer reward. Bigger than and less expensive than the rav 4 plus the tuscon is available with the v6 and less expensive than the 4 cylinder rav 4.. It has european looks and dual exhaust.. We have 6500 miles on it so far and no probs so far. the car has a tight feel the interior and body does not have a cheap look in which was the case for with my elantra. Roomy front and rear seats. I am 6 ft 230 and feel totaly comfortale my wife is much smaller also feel very safe and in control when she drives it. it is primalrily hers. She loves it. we do not have any problems with blind spots and the headlights/fog lights provide good vision. We have the 4 wheel drive version.. and it is unique. The vehicle is front wheel drive when not in 4x mode, excellent feature and when engaged in 4 wheel the vehicle will switch back to front wheel drive when speeds exceed 35mph which I love. 4 wheel at highway speeds is dangerous. when speed lowers below 35 it returns to 4 wheel drive. again this only when the 4x4 is engaged. this is great cause up in the adirondacks we face different road conditions during our snowy winters and muddy springs. the engine privides ample power for an small v6. we are getting about 20-22 mph not much city driving around here. am going to add a k&n air filter it should help with gas mileage, it added a exrtra 5 mpg for my elantra. be sure to pay attention to break in period cause it affects your future gas mileage. I wish it had a overdrive though. at 65 mph the tach reads about 2300 rpm. the car for the most part is quiet, nothing to complain about. the shiftronic option is fun, the braking is good, stability is great. rear luggage area is excellent, the rear trunk door and window can open seperately. power jacks are throughout front middle and rear of vehicle. It turn alot heads lots of compliments from passengers and disbelief of price from my other suv friends. overall we are very pleased with the vehicle. Its a great vehicle for someone who is looking for a sport ute. If there are any problems i will definetly update this review. and no I do not work for hyundai....read morehide

- Great Value
I just got one and I am really enjoying it. I traded-in my almost new Ford 500 for the Tucson and at first I was worried my wife would kill me. But she likes it even more.

- Price, Warranty, Smooth Drive, Quality, Roomy, safety features, look and style.
- Engine could be a bit more powerfull, black plastic bumpers and Cheep feeling nobs.
This is the first Hyundai I've ever purchased, I'm used of driving Hondas and Mazdas. I'm happy that i chose the Tuscon, I was pleasently surprised in the quality of the ride, quiet engine, smooth and quiet ride on city roads as well as highway driving. It might look a bit small from the outside but don't let that fool you, theres more then enough space for 5 passengers. I opted for the extended warranty of 7 years 120,000km instead of the standard 5 year 100,000km just in case which is amazing by itself. Only conserns I had with the tucson was its V6 engine, it's sufficient but I would of liked it with a bit more power but im quite satisfied. One more thing that bugged me was the lack of electric seats in its high end Tucson, bumpers are black plastic and curtain side air bags are not offered in the Tucson for the Canadian market....read morehide

- standard ABS, curtain airbags, stability control, and quiet interior at high speeds
- nothing yet
I purchased a Tucson after test driving the RAV and CRV; to my surprise, the Tucson provides a smoother, quieter, and more responsive ride than both others. While it is no rocket, the Tucson accelerates well and merges and passes with no problem. While it is a mini-suv, the interior makes you feel like you are in a vehicle closer to the size of a Highlander or Trailblazer. The fold down front and rear seats allow you to carry large and oddly shaped objects likes bikes or small trees.
The fuel economy is decent at about 22 mpg (combined city and highway driving), and greatly helped by a large 17 gallon tank.
The interior switches and gauges are easy to read, and the car responds in a very predictable way - it is very easy getting used to driving this SUV as it has no driving surprises such as quirky turning radiuses or extra tight steering. Rather, everything seems to fit just as you would expect from an SUV this size.
On balance, it seems Hyundai has done a very good job with this car. If you are in the market for an vehicle like the CRV or RAV, do yourself a favor and test drive the Tucson. I am pleased with my purchase and have no regrets, and for a 12 year Honda and Nissan driver, I never thought I would drive, let alone buy a Hyundai.
Unfortunately, it is clear to me that at a time when GM and Ford are sinking with lackluster and uninspiring models, Hyundai has decided to be a real player in the car market....read morehide

- Large Seating, Great Buy, Good Features Standard, Safety
- 4 speed
I'm 6'4" and this is the only Small SUV I can sit in the back of after I'm in front without putting the front seat in the dash. I couldn't beleive all the standard features (my first forein car). The 6 airbags was impressive (everyone else this was an option for 600$!!! like our safety doesn't matter!!).
I am disappointed in the 4 speed auto transmission. But, I can say that I get 22mpg out of my 4WD V6 (way better than expected)....read morehide

This is my first Hyundai, and have been pleasently surprised. The Tucson is a great value for someone looking for a small suv that is safe.I enjoy the sound system with mp3, cd, and cassette.

- Heated outside mirrors; 4wd; side curtain airbags; leather sterring wheel; mp3 player
- Stereo sound adequate not great; driver legroom ok
Just bought it, was surprised how much power it really has, it has great pick up speed. My other car is a sports car so any less power would have disappointed me
The heated outside mirrors are something I only dreamed of in the past.
Handles great and smooth ride, and I really want to emphasize smooth.
As a tall person, pretty hard to stretch legs while driving long trips, but it is adequate especially compared to many cars I have commaprison shopped.
Stereo sound below average. Not surprising there as that seems to be the norm for most cars. so I guess I should correct myslef and say stereo sound is average. Plan to rip speakers out and get better one's.
Cupholders galore and not cheapy version that allows drinks to spill easily.
Plenty of space.
If I built a dream car, this is what it'd trun out to be. And how can one surpass a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty?...read morehide

- Very comfortable, Standard Electronic Stability Control, Smooth ride, looks
- Not so good fuel economy, brakes don't like to be pushed too hard
Overall, I think this is a very good buy for your money. Although, the fuel economy could've been better, it's an SUV, so I guess it's typical. The vehicle looks small on the outside, but when you get in it, you will see how roomy it is.
The ride is very comfortable and smooth. The engine is decent, but the V6 doesn't seem so fast. As I said earlier, I really like this vehicle. I hope I can get a good 125,000 miles out of it without any problems....read morehide
