- wish it had a overdrive.
My second Hyundai. Traded in my 2001 elantra. Did my research before buying the Tuscon and found that it is the best deal going. even before the rebate and return customer reward. Bigger than and less expensive than the rav 4 plus the tuscon is available with the v6 and less expensive than the 4 cylinder rav 4.. It has european looks and dual exhaust.. We have 6500 miles on it so far and no probs so far. the car has a tight feel the interior and body does not have a cheap look in which was the case for with my elantra. Roomy front and rear seats. I am 6 ft 230 and feel totaly comfortale my wife is much smaller also feel very safe and in control when she drives it. it is primalrily hers. She loves it. we do not have any problems with blind spots and the headlights/fog lights provide good vision. We have the 4 wheel drive version.. and it is unique. The vehicle is front wheel drive when not in 4x mode, excellent feature and when engaged in 4 wheel the vehicle will switch back to front wheel drive when speeds exceed 35mph which I love. 4 wheel at highway speeds is dangerous. when speed lowers below 35 it returns to 4 wheel drive. again this only when the 4x4 is engaged. this is great cause up in the adirondacks we face different road conditions during our snowy winters and muddy springs. the engine privides ample power for an small v6. we are getting about 20-22 mph not much city driving around here. am going to add a k&n air filter it should help with gas mileage, it added a exrtra 5 mpg for my elantra. be sure to pay attention to break in period cause it affects your future gas mileage. I wish it had a overdrive though. at 65 mph the tach reads about 2300 rpm. the car for the most part is quiet, nothing to complain about. the shiftronic option is fun, the braking is good, stability is great. rear luggage area is excellent, the rear trunk door and window can open seperately. power jacks are throughout front middle and rear of vehicle. It turn alot heads lots of compliments from passengers and disbelief of price from my other suv friends. overall we are very pleased with the vehicle. Its a great vehicle for someone who is looking for a sport ute. If there are any problems i will definetly update this review. and no I do not work for hyundai.
