- Price, value, realatively good performance
- Acceleration a bit weak, Fuel economy not meeting expectations
I went into my Hyundai dealer looking to buy a Santa Fe. I'm a big guy and was looking for a nice size SUV for a good price so I felt the Santa Fe was my best bet. However, the Tucson sitting on the showroom floor of Hyundai dealership really caught my eye. I really liked the Tucson's design and decided to hop in for a feel. Surprisingly, the Tucson felt much roomier in the driver seat as well as the passenger seat than the bigger Santa Fe. Even the back seat felt comfortable and roomy with the driver's seat adjusted all the way back. I drove out of the dealership that day with my new Tucson and have been very pleased ever since. I've been driving it for about 6 months and have had no problems thus far. I do mostly city driving. But when I did take it on the highway, the ride was pretty smooth for the 3 hour plus drive to visit my sister at college. Fuel economy is not as efficient as the sticker says and accelerating from stop leaves much to be desired. Plus the horse power could be bigger. But I can't complain too much about the car. I've gotten many compliments on the look of both the exterior and interior. A/C is nice and cool and the heat, once it gets going, is nice and toasty. This is my second car and the first new car. I'd recommend this SUV to anyone who is budget conscious but still wants some "luxury" conveniences in their vehicle.
