I've had my Tucson for three years and have 30,600 miles on it. I loved it (past tense) until this week. while on a routine compute home a transmission fluid hose burst, my car started to decelerate and the transmission started slipping due to the complete loose of fluid in about a mile or less. The until under carriage and rear bumper and up the entire rear window was splattered with trany fluid. Thank you Hyundai for repairs that are covered under warranty. However this is not an isolated incident with the Tucson. I babied my car, serviced reqularly always waxed and cleaned and parked with extreme care to keep it scratch and dent free. Like so many other Tucson owners mine too needed a have a brake switch replaced when on day you start the car your two warning lights go on and good luck getting it into gear. Those are the two minus I have. Unlike some many Tucson owners have complained about, I DO get the stated EPA mileage most of the time. I average 22 city and 27-31 highway. Living in Nevada where the speed limits are well above 55. The handling and braking have been excellent. Its a little short of pep when coming uphill grades and mountains but the smooth 6 speed override allows you to shift manually and overcome the problems. Other than the two issues mentioned above I have been overall very satisfied with my Tuscon but can no longer say " I would definitely recommend it to a friend"
