Infiniti calls it 'the sports car among luxury crossovers', and after a quick glance at its aggressive sheet metal who could argue with that? A peek under the bulging hood reveals an optional 5.0-liter V8 good for 390 horsepower that heavily favors the 'Sport' in Sport Utility Vehicle. The alternative 3.7-liter still offers a generous 325 horsepower for plenty of utility in the same handsome body. Either power plant is available with Infiniti's always-impressive Intelligent All-Wheel Drive capable of sending 100% of the power to the rear wheels, or 50% to the front wheels for maximum traction when needed. Combining this system and an engine pushed as far back in the frame as possible, the FX ensures stable cornering thanks to its even weight distribution and low center of gravity- similar to the 370Z or G37 sports cars. For less spirited driving, all the amenities of a luxury crossover are still available along with some of Infiniti's unique contributions to the industry. Standard equipment includes an 11-speaker Audio System from Bose, leather trim, a Rearview Monitor and Bluetooth connectivity. Venturing into the optional equipment introduces the fantastic Around View Monitor and even more luxurious quilted leather-appointed seating.
