I was impressed by the power, handling, road manners, aggressive looks and the beautiful interior of this 2009 FX 50S and decided to give into my impulse. This was a pre-owned certified car with 30K miles on it, well-kept with minimal exterior blemishes/scratches. Within 5,000 miles of buying the car, I had slight transmission problem which was fixed under warranty. Within another 2,000 miles, had engine power loss that resulted in replacement of some kind of power cable for the engine. Transmission is unrefined, jerky and requires caution under normal drive. Multiple visits to the dealer and multiple diagnoses yielded no root cause to fix the issue. Approx. 50,000 miles luggage rail was replaced under warranty for rust. Approx. 60K bushing for the front suspension was replaced under warranty. At 70K transmission fluid was flushed and replaced that resulted in harsher transmission shifts, transmission stalling and sudden gear engagement with loud thud. All maintenance was done by the dealer by the book. The Average MPG is down to 14 for regular driving and lower if pushed. The cost of maintenance and TCO is very high. The joy is gone. Such a remarkable driver’s car with so many glitches….and for the price tag, unreliability is unfortunate. I’ll not consider infiniti in future....read morehide

I have an FX 50 and it has too many problems such as nitty gritty electrical issues, a/c issues, roof paint peeling off in 3 years, not comfortable, fuel consumption is not that good etc. Quality of Nissan in general has gone done in the last 5-8 years compared to others, I have owned a lot of Nissan’s and three infinity + 5 Lexus but quality of a Lexus is far more superior compared to infinity and generally Toyota quality is far more superior to Nissan which from now on I want to switch and stick to Toyota cars in general....read morehide

We live in the Rocky Mountains. We own a 2013 Infinity FX .37, upgraded from a 2007 FX 35. Would not own anything else. The FX is solid in adverse road conditions and a luxury automobile all in one!!
Thanks Mike Ward for the great deal2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.
