2009 Infiniti FX50 User Reviews
- Excellent fuel economy, worlds best GPS I've ever seen in any car.
This is the world's most luxurious SUV's in the market right now according to me and consumer reviews. I am really into cars so I would know everything about it. It has 390 horsepower @ 6,500 rpm, 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds, 369 lb-ft @ 4,400 rpm which is not bad at all for this type of heavy car to do. It does all that from the 5.0 liter V8 engine it has. It also has great fuel economy 14mpg in the city and 20mpg on the highway. In gives out an excellent performance and also it is really smooth by reducing wind noise and the steering wheel is more smooth to control too. It is a pretty quiet cabin too.
This 5 passenger SUV has a lane departure warning and prevention. What the lane departure prevention does is that if you slightly get off from your lane it will apply the brakes automatically and push you back in the lane. What the lane departure warning does is that when your vehicle tries to move off from your lane it will warn you from a signal that you are pushing the SUV off from your lane. No car in the world has that right now.
The SUV has a navigation which you will never find any better navigation system than the 2009 infiniti fx has. It has a birds eye view and a pilot view with a lot of cool graphics and color and the best part about i like in the navigation is that it shows you 3d buildings. It also has live traffic with a subscription fee which you have to pay. By the way, the navigation is all touchscreen. There are controls for it on the steering wheel too.
There is a BOSE surround sound system built in 11-speaker Bose® Premium Audio system with Burr-Brown DAC, AM/FM/CD with MP3 playback capability and Radio Data System (RDS) and it also has satellite radio in it to. BOSE is one of the worlds best sound system companies too. There is a hard drive where you can store up to 2,900 songs in it.
There are air conditioned seats available for the driver and the front passengar. The seat will cool up extremely fast for you and your front passenger.
Something new you would notice in this luxurious SUV is that the speedometer reads up to 180mph instead of some normal cars do which reads up to 160mph. When Infiniti did a test drive on this vehicle, they made the SUV go up to 152mph which is really fast. The speedometer is a combination of 3 colors which are blue, red, and white.
Now, about the steering wheel, the steering wheel is shaped really like a sporty steering wheel since it is a sports utility vehicle. It is really smooth to control and really comfortable to hold to. It has all the controls you need on it too. There are sport shift keys sticked on the back of it. You will only get that if you purchase the sports package.
With the sports package, you can get sporty seats too. They are also comfortable if you dont get it but they will look a little sporty and have a little more design applied to it.
Well thank you really much for reading my review thats all I have to say and I hope in the future sometimes you will purchase this vehicle....read morehide

- Very Comfortable
I test drove the sport package with rear view camera. The camera works pretty well---very very helpful for anyone who does not have a clue about backing up a car. The sports suspension was exactly the same as a Sports suspension of a G-35 Sedan. The 7 - speed automatic behaved very much like the CVT technology in the Nissan Altima and Maxima auto cars----very seamless and well coordinated. The FX50 drives as comfortably as a G-35 Sedan--can't tell the difference when inside.
However, I feel there was no difference between the 6th and 7th gear. Both gears had so little torque that they are only good for very long high way driving. In fact, the sticker says it has 363lb foot of torgue. Yet, I never really felt the torque when i pushed it. If the engine of the FX 50 which is a V-8 is also an HR engine, then I would say that the HR engines tend to produce their torque only on the high end, when in fact, any good and useable torque should be at the low end. I experienced this same lack of low end torque in the G-37. Sorry folks, I do need my torque at all times. T
The usual FX exhaust grunt seems to be missing as well--no real and exciting exhaust sound. The interior of the car was well appointed---seats now have adjustable bolsters for your thigh and back, Regardless of your size, the FX 50 will accomodate your back and thigh by adjusting the bolster. FX50 is a refined version of the previous FX45 and 35 models.
As for the 390 horsepower in the engine. I really did not feel impressed by it. The engine seemed to be straining somewhat---perhaps the car was still new and not yet broken in. A supercharged FX35 or 45 would do just as well.
I am not particularly sure what the FX 50 is designed to do for the infiniti line but I do know that it is out place in the infiniti line up, as well as the EX brand. Infiniti needs to focus on their FX 35 and 45 lines and make them incrementally better. I feel the FX 50 is slightly over priced. The technology in that car should have been passed down to the veritable FX 45.
On the whole, it was a fun drive and I enjoyed it. I am still not with the HR engines. There is something about those engines that is too refined for a sports sedan, coupe or SUV. These are just my honest opinions and assessment. You may see it differently.
In addition, you have the option of the technology package, which will set you financially back a bit, and the option of a 20 or 21 inch wheels....read morehide
