- can be a stiffer ride with sport suspension, smaller trunk space, gas mileage

Overall, excellent vehicle in comparison with Acura TL, Audi A4, BMW 320i - especially when priced out with the full tech package.

- Pros
- Interior design.
- Cons
- Gas consumption, loud, squeaks
Purchased As New
One of the worst cars ever driven. Gas consumption is horrible. I live in suburbs and drive 50% on quiet streets and the rest on highways averages 18mpg. When the temperature falls under 35F, windshield starts to squeaks. When took it to the dealer, they couldn't identify the problem. Engine is very loud. And it doesn't perform as intended by placing 327HP under the hood. Occasionally, screen goes off and the car needs to be restarted to have it back on. Heard same complains from a few unhappy drivers.
The only pro with this car is the stability on the road. Handles corners pretty good.
This is my first and last Infinity car ever....read morehide1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Exceptional car, changed from Cad STS to infiniti. Great power, fun to drive and great handling
- Cons
- Tight on back seat room

Love the car, great value for everything you get. Fun to drive, especially on highway. Great passing power and stability. Was going back to Cad XTS but Infiniti better value and performance. I love the intuitive interior and features. My second G 37 and will continue with Infiniti line in the future....read morehide

- Pros
- Good handling of sharp curves
- Cons
- Dull interior and sticky trunk
Purchased As Not Purchased
I rented G37 for 4 days at Phoenix airport. I've driven BMW prior to Inifiniti, here are my observations:
1) G37 interior is very dull, detail is poorly done, and there is just no luxury appeal. BMW 328 scores very high here.
2) Nothing to grip for manually opening G37 trunk, it is absolutely insane why there is nothing to latch on to for trunk release.
3) Real time MPG indicator is way off and unreliable.
4) Cup holder looks great in G37, but try using it for short coffee cup from Starbucks, again it is little difficult to get a good grip from the cup holder.
5) G37 steering wheel just looks okay (no luxury appeal). BMW 328 scores high here.
6) G37 is very good at handling sharp curves, probably same or little better than BMW 328.
7) Acceleration and drive sport mode worked fine in G37. It is probably same or little better than BMW 328.
Overall, it is a good performance car, but interior and trunk makes it not a good luxury car....read morehide0 out of 8 people found this review helpful.

What a shock. Nissan is dropping the G25 after one year. I guess there wasn't a big demand for an underpowered G37 for the price of a 290 HP Maxima.

- Pros
- Extremely powerful engine, very stable handling, good comfort, great fit and finish
- Cons
- Engine is not as smooth as some other competitors - styling is understated
Purchased As Used
Purchased one year old - almost a new car. Since we changed from a V-8 car, we thought it would be less powerful. The engine accelerates the car almost like a large motorbike and the level of comfort was beyond what we expected. The feedback from steering wheel is excellent - bit similar to very sporty cars - Nissan ZX or BMW, as the car handles just like those cars we used to own. Having said so, we feel the ride is not as cushy and soft as some American sedan or Lexus at low speed, but it gets very stable at highway speeds and drives like an arrow. Acceleration pedal has a bit different taste from other cars, making it challenging to drive as smooth as silk (Lexus does). But it is a fun to drive car for sure and by far more reliable than European cars, based on Consumers Report (which we believe has been surprisingly accurate to predict car reliabilty). Fuel consumption is not as good but not bad for its high performance engine....read morehide

- Pros
- Not a single issue so far
- Cons
- Not as pretty as some other cars

Bought a 2012 G37x after researching every possible car at length. Decided on G because as far as features for price, nothing can really beat it, you get a luxury name and car and it is not so flashy that I have problems parking at work. It drives like a true sports car, looks beautiful and I have not had a single issue in the four months since I bought it. I have some regrets in not going for a Jaguar or Audi simply because of looks, but considering how well the G has treated me so far, that regret is going away fast. All in all, I'd have no hesitation recommending this car....read morehide

- Pros
- Appearance, value, acceleration, handling, fit and finish, amenities
- Cons
- Easily dented, transmission occasionally shifts prematurely

I have no idea what the user below is talking about. He was probably on crack when he wrote his review. People like him give online user reviews a bad name.
Anyway, my previous model is a 2007 G35, so I was pretty excited to get my hands on 2012. G series's appearance basically stayed the same since 2009 with minor changes. It worked for them so far, don't see a reason why they need to change it unless something completely outlandish comes along.
Inside, fit and finish is of very high quality as before. My only concern is that the interior paint on my inside door panels wore prematurely, and that the wood trim peeled off after about 3 years. But Infiniti was very good about replacing the peeled off wood trims. Unfortunately, the interior paint belong to the regular wear and tear category. The amenities are plentiful as before. Rear view camera comes standard.
Overall, if you liked the G series from 2007 on, you'll still like this one a lot. Handling still gives a slightly different feel than BMW 3 Series, which I've driven on occasions when I'm the DD on some nights out. The acceleration still feels like it "swells", Going from 0-20 didn't feel as quickly as from 20-60. Doesn't bother me, but may turn some people off.
My biggest complaint is that this car seems to be even more prone to dings and dents than my 2007. What I would really like to see from Infiniti is to design something that protrudes out to both sides to prevent dings and dents from idiot drivers who don't know how to park and don't pay attention to other people's cars when opening their doors. It may sacrifice the styling of the car somewhat, but it'll save thousands of repair dollars later.
Overall, if you liked G before, there's no reason to switch to any other model now....read morehide5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.
