- convertible, power ok, fun to drive, exhaust sounds good, spearkers in head rest
- less hp than coupe, button-down seatbelt catch, slow response when accerlering out of down shift

this convertible is my second g37. first one was 2009 g37s.
i generally like the infiniti brand because it's a much better value for money when comparing power and accoutrements to benz and bmw and you get exactly what's in the brouchure for the price(at least here in s. korea.) at the bmw store they have nice brochures but you have to add on all kinds of stuff to make it the same car that appears in the brochure. price in korea for fully loaded g37 convertible with sport and technology package about $72,000 before taxes. price for fully loaded bmw 335is convterible about $94,000 plus you have to add another $6,000 for 19in wheels, so make it an even $100,000 before taxes. also, everyone here who has the disposable income drives bmw or benz. i like to have something a little different from the crowd.
so the power is okay. it's a quick car; quick, not fast. the exhaust sounds growly - cool. i was disappointed that the hp for the convertible was decreased; only 8hp less, but still, why?
still no way to connect a usb to the stereo. you have to buy a bunch of connectors to hook up your mp3 player. that's disappointing.
like the idea of having the surround speakers in the head rest, but the quality is lackluster. the rest of the system generally a good deep tight base response, but lacks clarity in the tweeters and mids are a little flat. just an okay sound system.
the seatbelt catch is a little weird with two snaps that always come unsnapped. when you try to snap them back in, the soft seat gives and it's hard to snap it back on. would have liked a hard seatbelt catch with a way to slip the belt out like on 3 series.
back seat lost some space for convertible system, but i don't sit back there so i don't care.
another disappointment is that the center 'console' in the back seat has remained a cheap hard piece of plastic.
interior of old and new g37 models have always been nice. like the brushed aluminum trim, but wish there had been more than 3 leather color choices.
i liked how the front center console swooped up from the shifter to the dashboard. with the convertible (maybe it's all new models, i don't know) the center console goes straight into the dash. don't like the look, too much.
when downshifting and accelerating around corners there is a weird lag where the engine doesn't respond then suddenly the transmission catches and the car jumps forward. of course, when that happens you feel like a dork who can't drive. had the same issue with my 2009 g37s.
only the small spoiler is available in s. korea and when it rains the back up camera tends to be covered with rain drops making it impossible to see. the bigger spoiler overhang on the 2009 g37s had this problem a little, but it's quite pronounced with this smaller spoiler.
only the weird old school cell phone-style antennas are available for the convertible in s. korea. i got the shorter of the two, but still don't like it. i much prefer the small body-colored ones that are available in the u.s.
don't like that the fully loaded g37c here in korea lost the sports seats. i liked how you could adjust the seat and the seat back to hug your legs and your sides on my 2009 g37s. oh well, i guess infiniti korea wanted to skimp a little while still charging for the sport package.
i like the cooled seats. they weren't available yet in the 2009 g37s when i bought in late 2008.
over all a fun car to drive and a much better value for power and interior accoutrements than a more expensive benz or beamer, but if i lived in the states, where cars are cheaper, i admit i'd probably spend the same amount of money as i do here and buy a benz or bmw there....read morehide
