I like the way it looks. The body kit and the rims are nice, but the exhaust tips are a little bit ridiculous. The malbec black paint looks really nice after a car wash, but attracts dust and fingerprints like nothing else. Love the red seats; I've always wanted those. It has lots of toys/gadgets and a big infotainment screen, all standard.
Most people complain about the price, but I think it's a good value when compared to its foreign rivals. It's about $4k more than an equally equipped G37S with navigation package. For that you get the special black paint, red leather seats, performance wheels, body kit (improved aerodynamics which results in zero lift at high speeds; supposedly), more efficient exhaust, re-mapped CPU (more hp, torque, and a flatter power curve), rev matching transmission for improved downshifts, and a level of exclusivity. That has to be at least $4k in upgrades. The wheels alone would probably cost $1k if they were a standalone option.
The biggest problem is that it just doesn't feel that fast. Even at almost 350hp. How can such a small car be so heavy? There is no room in the back and the trunk space is a pathetic, but it somehow weighs more than BMW or Merc, which offer much more of both and better gas mileage. The weight also hinders the acceleration, because the engine does not produce a lot of torque for its size.
So in conclusion, very good car, but not great. And if Infiniti want(s?) to topple the established luxury brands, they need to be great. They really need to do something about that size to weight ratio. It's what's really holding this car back, in my opinion....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

I tested this car a few days ago at a local dealer. What prompted me to drive the car was the slick exterior look. The test drive was quite disappointed. The acceleration was sluggish and the handling was mediocre. For the performance, it is NOT worth the price of 50K + fees.
The engine and handling performance for this IPL G37 was not nearly as good as from my 370z 6MT Touring Sports with Navigation, fully loaded for $39K out the door, plus another $900 for slight engine and suspension mod that brings the car up to 360hp ( 300hp+ at the wheel on dynojet ).
In my opinion, I would not mind paying 50K for this car if it has at least 400hp. But at 348hp, it is not worth it....read morehide1 out of 4 people found this review helpful.
